More and more SaaS companies are finding their way to Skyscrapers to help them out with DevOps, cloud and Kubernetes. To cope with the ongoing growth and rolling out the many plans we still have, we’re looking for a new colleague.

In your role as Customer Cloud Engineer you will get the chance to work with development teams and CTO’s of our various customers. You will provide advice and solve their devops and cloud challenges with our packaged solutions and cloud native technologies. You’ll also have the opportunity to be part of our engineering efforts and grow your cloud skills and expertise.

## Your key responsibilities

As a Customer Cloud Engineer you would:

* Align roadmaps between customer needs and our engineering efforts
* Deliver standardised cloud components starting from our standard stacks
* Help customers use the technologies we deliver effectively.
* Guide and support migrations of customers.
* Consult customers on architecture, technology and best practices around cloud technologies, architectures and devops.
* Participate in engineering efforts around the various cloud components that form our Reference Solutions. This recent blog post from our colleague Philip gives you an idea on we automate things.
* Participate in shared operational duties like reactive first line support and 24/7 on-call rotations (on average 1 incident every 2 weeks).
* Share knowledge and expertise in various forms like blog posts and occasional webinars.

## Technologies

For this role we’re looking for experience on the following technologies. The more you know the better, the less you know the more you can learn.

* Cloud: Amazon Web Services is our core provider for the moment, but are already exploring Azure and Google Cloud
* Container platforms: AWS EKS, Kubernetes, (AWS ECS), Google Kubernetes and other container engines
* Terraform
* Knowledge on monitoring and observability
* Go and other languages
* CI/CD workflows and products
* General Linux sysops skills
* Database: DynamoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Neo4J, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, Cassandra, etc

It would be great if you identify yourself with one or more of the following skills, experience and qualities:

* Excellent writing and knowledge sharing skills in English
* Disciplined and self-organising so you know how and when to get your work done
* Open personality with a growth mindset, both personally and professionally
* Experience with software engineering, systems engineering and operations
* Ability to keep pace in a constantly changing environment
* Ability to debug complex systems
* Absolute commitment to automation, documentation and standardization
