Designer Managers aim to enhance the quality of life, productivity and culture of Shopifolk. They achieve this through ownership of all technical aspects and creative direction with thoughtful implementation of functional programming. They lead innovative design solutions that are scalable and promote flexibility and longevity, while ensuring all aspects of a design meet all health and safety requirements. Our goal is to provide a seamless and intuitive experience for Shopifolk. All this while translating the “not so pretty stuff” into unique and beautifully curated spaces that align with Shopify's architectural branding and reflect the local subculture.

What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting the design process for new Shopify offices across the globe (travel may be required);
- Working with external architects, designers, and engineers to ensure the interior design of our spaces meets our standards and requirements;
- Collaborating with internal teams on Shopify requirements;
- Leading multiple complex projects with interdisciplinary teams;
- Creating interior design content;
- Leading design and user research to meet and exceed marketplace standards and offerings;
- Ensuring consistency across multiple office locations;
- Taking responsibility for the timely delivery of decisions and drawings for construction execution;
- Thorough technical review and coordination of all drawings submitted by consultants;
- Gathering consensus among stakeholders with differing views.
To be successful in this role you’ll have:
- Senior level experience in a Prime Consultant role leading and managing creative teams and complex interdisciplinary projects;
- Multidisciplinary experience working with Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, Communications, AV, and IT consultants;
- Extensive experience designing hospitality, retail, or similar experiential environments;
- A passion for promoting design excellence;
- Deep care about how culture, productivity, and workspaces intersect;
- Have proficiency with current design tools (including AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Cloud, Revit, and Plangrid);
- The drive to thrive on change and be comfortable with doing things unconventionally;
- Strong opinions, weakly held;
- Great organization paired with great prioritization skills;
- Amazing communication skills (written and verbal).
