We are Sortly, a simple, modern, easy-to-use inventory application for businesses. Thousands of businesses including teams at Apple, Lyft, Netflix, Facebook and other very cool companies use Sortly to keep track of various physical things. We are financially independent and positioned to grow, with experienced advisors from 500 Startups, Salesforce, Oracle, etc. We are looking for sharp people to help power our attack on a $20+ billion market.
Having attained a solid revenue trajectory, we're now building out our management strength to mature and scale the engineering team. You will be our first hire to take over the responsibility from the founders, so they can focus on moving the company faster. To do so successfully, you will have to earn their trust and become indispensable. You will be responsible for all aspects of product delivery and technical operations.
Responsibilities:
First and foremost, you will be the one responsible for running smooth operation of all things technical, including a reliable 24x7 platform, engineering operations, and product delivery.
Engineering
day-to-day guidance, oversight, and management of our distributed teams
delivery of regular, timely, quality releases
day-to-day operations of the systems, apps, website, infrastructure
mature our Engineering org to be more responsive, reliable and transparent
improve and establish engineering best-practices
active collaboration with stakeholders (CEO, Marketing, Product, etc)
Technology:
build out and improve our technology platform and its parts
maintain a coherent systems view of our platform and its components, and ensure it is understood among engineering, manifested in code
proactively seek out and implement our future technology vision
Must have demonstrable experience with:
shipping mixed-technology, multi-part systems / platforms which contain a substantial mobile component
delivering enterprise / SaaS, which are secure, performant and scalable
managing engineers, QA, outsourced relationships, etc.
proactive communication and transparency in all directions
established software engineering practices including agile development, CI / CD, release management, etc.
the customary tooling: cloud, devops, databases, CI / CD, frameworks, repositories, etc.
delivering to SLAs
working with remote teams
