The Product Manager for the Hospital Competency and other Pharmacist Solutions is responsible for successfully market launches, product planning and product management. Duties include managing products throughout the product lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, communicating requirements and user stories to development teams, and working with TRC stakeholders to define product visions. Duties also include working with sales, marketing, and customer support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met and that the product and marketing efforts support TRC’s overall strategy and goals.

The product manager leads overall product strategy, including research into new and emerging products for pharmacists, creating business cases, writing market requirements documents, and providing assistance to project managing portions of the development process. In addition, the product manager is responsible for product launch planning. They will work with cross-functional teams to ensure successful rollout of products and new features, pricing, defining the market position of a product, and developing detailed marketing plans, collateral materials and training aids for sales, customers and consumers.

The Product Manager must be willing to travel and enjoy spending time in the market to understand client’s and user’s day-to-day challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  •  Generate product vision, product strategy, and roadmaps, including working with customers and end-users as well as direct market research to identify market opportunities for revenue growth and new product development.
  • Define and analyze key business metrics to monitor product and sales success. Maintain financial performance of the assigned product(s) as defined by corporate goals and objectives. 
  • Work with editorial and operations teams (accounting, client services, content operations, etc.) to ensure products are high quality and customer focused.
  • Assist or lead the creation of business plans to demonstrate return on investment in product development activities and related expenses. 
  • Document product requirements and communicate requirements to development teams. 
  • Act as a resource to sales team to answer product questions and facilitate the sales.
  • Be an expert with respect to the market and the competition. 
  • Act as an escalation point for Group Client Services to help resolve, prioritize and track customer issues.
  • Act as a leader within the company. 

Requirements

  •  Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in product management or 5-10 years as a pharmacist in practice
  • Bachelor's degree essential. MBA preferred
  • Healthcare and information services experience preferred
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • Works well in small teams

  •  Location flexible
  • Willing to Travel (10-20% of time)
