  • *Job summary**
The Red Hat User Experience (UX) Design team is looking for a Senior UX Researcher to join us in Westford, MA. In this role, you will work collaboratively with our interaction designers and quality engineers to perform usability testing and end-to-end user experience evaluations at the offering and solution level. You will also substantially contribute to the formation of a repeatable testing framework and collaborative process across software development disciplines and organizations. You will embed user research principles and methods into our design and quality assurance (QA) processes, leading to an optimal user experience for Red Hat's offerings and solutions. As a Senior UX Researcher, you will become a part of a fast-paced, collaborative team. To help us achieve our goals, you'll need to be motivated, highly organized, and flexible.
  • *Primary job responsibilities**
+ Contribute to an interdisciplinary team that includes other UX researchers, quality engineers, interaction designers, developers, product and marketing managers, and other stakeholders

+ Identify, define, and potentially create evaluation methods that are appropriate to apply within a software QA and testing framework

+ Design and conduct research activities in a full range of areas, including formative and summative usability testing, ethnographic and field studies, interviews, surveys, and heuristic evaluations

+ Perform descriptive statistics on quantitative data collected through research activities and prepare research reports that include consumable data summaries and visualizations, as well as concise and actionable conclusions

+ Create templates for test scripts, reports, and presentations to be used both internally and externally during software development life cycle stages

+ Educate the UX and product teams on best practices and methods in research
  • *Required skills**
+ Master's degree or higher in human computer interaction, human factors, applied psychology, experimental psychology, or a closely related area, or equivalent work experience

+ Knowledge of the principles and practice of software interaction design

+ Experience with the user interface design process and methods, particularly as applied to web-based applications
