The Red Hat Quality Engineering (QE) team is looking for a Quality Engineer to join us in Brno, Czech Republic. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a difference in the way how Red Hat Mobile Application Platform works and is built. You’ll gain deep understanding of a variety of technologies, including both infrastructure-related ones like Red Hat OpenShift or Red Hat Ansible Automation, and mobile-specific technologies like Cordova. As a Quality Engineer, you will guide the team to focus on quality during the planning and development of the offering, create acceptance criteria, write test plans, and research test coverage and automation for new features, and also conduct acceptance, function, regression, integration, and performance testing in the infrastructure in the cloud. You’ll make sure that our solutions fulfill the highest possible enterprise quality, performance, usability, and supportability criteria. As a part of an agile team, you will also participate in product development. You’ll need to have the ability to think creatively and adapt to rapid change, as well as the willingness to learn new things.


  • Work with the complete Red Hat Middleware solutions portfolio and be responsible for the delivery of Red Hat Mobile Application Platform
  • Help the team to deliver offerings according to the definition and suggest improvements for product planning processes
  • Work and communicate with a distributed team
  • Advocate for quality and define acceptance criteria of new features
  • Develop tests and verify hybrid and native Android and iOS mobile applications
  • Automate provisioning of testing infrastructure and participate in continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) DevOps efforts
  • Clearly document new bugs and advocate for their resolution with developers
  • Research, develop, and implement mobile test automation tools and frameworks
  • Participate in development of Red Hat Mobile Application Platform

  • Experience with programming in JavaScript; programming languages like Go or Java are a big plus
  • Practical experience with testing or development of open source software projects
  • Ability to work both on your own and as part of a team
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to a growing and evolving team environment
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Foundational experience with agile methodologies

The following are considered a plus:

  • Experience with mobile application development
  • Knowledge of containers and Red Hat OpenShift
  • Experience with cloud providers like Red Hat OpenStack Platform, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Microsoft Azure
  • Experience with CI and CD
  • Ability to design and code for frameworks which simplify test development and automation solutions
