The Red Hat Sales team is looking for an Associate Solutions Architect to join the North American Public Sector (NAPS) team in Northern Virginia or Washington, D.C. In this role, you will create possibilities, solve problems, and establish working relationships with our customers. You will help our customers invest in solutions from across the Red Hat portfolio that will give them a competitive advantage. As an Associate Solutions Architect, you'll support field sales account managers in managing large government accounts and businesses. You will apply your technical expertise, passion for open source, thorough understanding of business processes, and ability to identify and create business solutions across multiple technology platforms at the enterprise level. You'll also need to have excellent communication and people skills because you'll be a crucial part of the first impression our customers have with Red Hat.

• Present Red Hat’s offerings and technical proposals to potential customers
• Provide presales technical support for the development and implementation of complex offerings and solutions
• Ensure that revenue and new business quotas and service objectives are met
• Gain understanding of customer business and IT environments and collaborate with sales teams to assess the potential application of Red Hat's solutions
• Provide follow-up support when distributing technical information on specific applications

• 1-3 or more years of experience in sales engineering, consulting, IT architecture, or equivalent supporting enterprise accounts
• Solid knowledge of UNIX and Linux system administration, integration, or development
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to present to small and large groups of mixed audiences, including business, technical, management, and leadership teams
• Understanding of complex enterprise solutions and architectures
• Ability to interpret customer business problems and technical issues and effectively explain how our solutions will meet their needs or requirements
• Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certifications are a plus
• Knowledgeable and enthusiastic about open source technologies and community-based development
