We are a five-year-old startup based in Des Moines, Iowa looking for looking for Automation Test Engineer, who is responsible to create automation framework, develop script and execute automations and overall improving our product quality

The Kind of Person we are Seeking

Someone to join our QA team to help us improve our overall quality.  This person will have good experience with QA automation in web and mobile applications as well as APIs.  They will partner with our QA Manual testing efforts to ensure overall test coverage and quality releases during our cycles. This person will report to Product Management and work closely with Software Engineers and QA Manual Testers.

Responsibilities and Initiatives

• Design test automation architecture and frameworks.
• Develop, maintain, and execute automation test scripts
• Ensure scalability of automation and continuous integration across the solution.
• Troubleshoot testing scenarios and domain issues, write basic scripts in one or more programming languages.
• Execute test cases/scripts/scenarios on schedule (Functional, Regression Testing), and open defects as needed
• Develop/build test automation strategy and focus specifically on maximizing reusability for regression
• Identify regression testing needs and create and maintain an Automated Regression Suite
• Provide test execution reports Work closely with architects to analyze the end-to-end scenarios, gather requirements, and design the test cases that needs to be automated
• Maintain automated scripts utilizing the framework, adhering to coding standards
• Proactively solve technical problems for automation.
• Provide test case coverage and defect metrics to substantiate release decisions.
• Proactively build test cases for defects and integrate them into the automation suite.

Qualifications

• More than 4 years of experience with minimum 2 years of relevant experience in Test Automation primarily for web and mobile applications.
• Experience of creating automation framework.
• Create and Execute Automation Test cases / scripts using scripting language like Java.
• Good understanding of all phases of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) and STLC (Software Testing Life Cycle)
• Analytical skills
• Very good verbal / written communication skills and ability to communicate/work independently.
• Attention to detail - Test web and mobile applications to find ways to improve them and isolate problems, must be highly detail oriented
• Problem solving skills.
• Good team player, ability to communicate effectively, ability to perform well in a dynamic environment.
• Strong experience working with Git-based version control systems.

• Classification: Contract Remote
• May have limited responsibilities after normal business hours and/or weekends
