About the role

As Aiven’s Compensation & Benefits Senior Manager you will shape Aiven’s global Total Reward philosophy and strategy from the ground up and own all related topics including salary benchmarking and reviews, incentive structures and the benefits portfolio. You will be a critical partner in developing attractive compensation packages to attract and retain top talent in our international and remote locations.

Reporting directly into our VP People and part of the People Leadership team, you will collaborate with stakeholders from across Aiven. You have strong experience developing Total Reward strategies, are aware of best practices and recent trends and are able to translate them into Aiven’s culture. You are an expert in your field and keen to make an impact in a fast-paced environment.

We are based in many different countries, e.g. Helsinki, Berlin, Boston, Toronto & Sydney, and this role can be performed remotely in several countries in North America or Europe.

Responsibilities

  • You will partner with the VP People, CEO and the Exec Team to develop and implement Aiven’s Compensation philosophy and strategy for Aiven’s globally distributed workforce
  • You will ensure the Compensation and Benefits is adequately resourced to meet the requirements of our growing company
  • You will form an integral part of any Compensation Committee established at Aiven alongside senior stakeholders
  • You will work in close partnership with the Employee Stock Options Program Manager on all compensation related matters pertaining to Aiven’s Equity Program
  • You and your team serve as the first point of contact for any matter regarding global compensation and benefits
  • You will introduce market driven salary benchmarking across the company to help make informed hiring decisions
  • You will build on the existing role framework as well as develop a more robust and consistent bi-annual salary review process globally
  • You will help create competitive benefits offerings in all our markets globally to help us attract the best talent
  • You support the review of our programs and recommend changes and enhancements to the regional and local management
  • You provide data, facts, and trends to support decision-making and solutions in the local markets

Requirements

  • Have at least 8+ years of experience in managing compensation and/or benefit programs in a fast paced and growth company
  • Be driven by the idea of building an ‘amazing employee Reward experience’
  • Have a strong knowledge of People areas such as Global Benchmarking across multiple markets, Talent Acquisition, Performance Management and Organisational Development
  • Possess solid hands-on experience with benchmarking tools and systems
  • Demonstrate the ability to partner with key stakeholders to enable strategic reward decisions and train other in Reward topics
  • Experience with Board, C-level & Executive equity and compensation packaging will be considered advantageous
  • Have strong interpersonal skills and collaborative work-style
  • Have strong analytical and advanced Excel skills and a track record for planning, delivering and auditing work
  • Excellent spoken and written English
