• *Job summary**

Red Hat's Public Sector Consulting team is looking for a Container Consultant to join us in the Washington DC Metro Area. In this role, you will guide the adoption of Red Hat's solutions with customers. Through a series of both in-person and remote interactions, you'll earn the trust and confidence of customer engineering, development, and operations teams by aligning their requirements and use cases with the functional capabilities of Red Hat's solutions. You'll play a key part in bringing together cross-functionally Red Hat's product, Engineering, Support, Sales, and Services teams to meet the needs of our most demanding customers. You'll serve as a customer advocate within these organizations, aiming to deliver the right solutions and ensuring that these solutions are implemented and supported in an innovative and reliable way. As a Container Consultant, you'll need to have a thorough working knowledge of and practical experience with cloud architectures, their supporting infrastructures (including Linux, containers, and virtualization), and scripting languages like Python, Ruby, and Puppet. You'll also need to have knowledge of either cloud software-defined networking (SDN) or storage (object and block) disciplines and of DevOps models and technologies. While you will work remotely, this role will require travel, week over week, Monday through Thursday.

• *Primary job responsibilities**

+ Implement enterprise solutions based on Red Hat OpenShift, integrating with Red Hat OpenStack Platform and similar Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) technologies as well as application development tools and software life cycle processes

+ Create next-generation application platform automation solutions based around containers and container orchestration using technologies like Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Atomic, Docker, and Kubernetes

+ Collaborate with project and customer team members to meet timelines and goals

+ Contribute to project documentation and diagrams, including quality assurance (QA) and ticket and bug management

+ Mentor and transfer knowledge to customers

+ Work with senior associates to increase adoption of automation techniques and DevOps processes to improve software delivery, including business-IT alignment, infrastructure and application uptime and availability, and time to market

+ Design and advocate solutions using cloud technologies, design principles, integration points, and automation methods

+ Standardize open source Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and DevOps solutions delivery in services playbooks and offerings

+ Guide presales conversations, discovery sessions, and solutions development around DevOps and application platform automation

• *Required skills**

+ Technology experience in consulting, engineering, or application development

+ Experience with Linux, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or a derivative

+ Experience with Docker or Kubernetes

+ Platform scripting skills using Bash, Ruby, or Python

+ Secret clearance; higher-level clearance is a plus
