Job summary
Come work with us to shape and define the next iteration of the open hybrid cloud and support Red Hat’s business. The Red Hat Information Technology (IT) Digital Solution Delivery team is looking for a multi-disciplinary next generation business technology leader to join us as a Director in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will guide the next iteration of our open hybrid cloud, leading our application development, application life cycle management, and container platforms delivery, all the while making use of your expertise in leading business application engineering and platform services teams. You’ll directly support and cooperate with our key business stakeholders on application changes in support of their businesses, implementing the strategy on our container platforms services. You’ll also continue to evolve the design, build, and operations of our mission-critical container platform services powered by Red Hat OpenShift across our open hybrid cloud presence in the market, while leading the use of the platform by our Application Development Services (ADS) team along with the best practices around our next generation application life cycle management. In addition, you’ll work with other application teams and our infrastructure team to continue to evolve our platform and application capabilities, all in support of Red Hat’s growth. As a Director, you’ll need to be forward-thinking in leading teams to apply best practices while creating new best practices, have experience in application development leadership, application life cycle management, and platform services and an understanding of the impact that the open hybrid cloud has on a digital business.

Primary job responsibilities
Engage with key business stakeholders to ensure that applications are developed and maintained to help in guiding success for the respective areas of the business
Be responsible for developing, defining, and improving of application development practices across multiple languages, application life cycle management, and platform implementations for application development
Be responsible for our mission-critical and innovation Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) installations across our hybrid cloud presence in the market, including engineering and operational responsibilities
Be responsible for our application life cycle management practices, tools, operations, and evolution
Be responsible for application development teams accountable for the development, support, maintenance, and operations of 40+ custom applications in our IT portfolio
Partner with IT teams to adopt best practices and standards on application development, use of platforms, and standardized tooling
Required skills
15+ years of experience in business application development combined with platform services delivery
People development and leadership skills
Experience with one or more public cloud providers like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Experience with open source hybrid cloud platforms, including Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform
Experience with application life cycle management (ALM) tools and strategies
Digital consulting skills and experience with IT delivery techniques like agile methodology, design thinking, innovation games, etc.
Experience defining and maintaining business and technical strategies and roadmaps
Excellent written and verbal presentation skills with the ability to guide discussions and gain agreement on decisions among technical to executive-level type of audiences
Experience with project and program implementations
Demonstrated ability to persuade associates across large enterprise context for strategy and adoption of platforms and approaches

Record of serving as an established people leader with an emphasis on teamwork, learning, and cross-functional collaboration
Experience with enterprise open source
Agile, AWS, and Lean certifications
Proven record of leading multiple disciplinary application and platforms practices in an enterprise environment
