Job summary
The Red Hat Cloud Platforms Business team is looking for a Director of Product Marketing to join us in the Bay Area of San Francisco, CA for our OpenShift Kubernetes platform and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offerings. Youll work closely with the leadership teams across business teams to define and carry out our platform go-to-market strategy. Your goal will be to capture the Red Hat OpenShift opportunity in the rapidly growing container and Kubernetes market and to lay the foundation for the overall Red Hat portfolio. As a Director, youll help our customers, ecosystem partners, and internal stakeholders achieve business success by telling a unique and differentiated story about the value we provide. You will define the messaging, positioning, thought leadership, and content strategy across the buyer journey. Youll guide our corporate and demand generation teams to a flawless realization of awareness and marketing campaigns and youll partner closely with sales leadership to enable our field teams and partners to engage with customers and close deals. You’ll need to have a passion for taking the complex and making it simple, unique, and differentiated and for leading and developing a team of excellent product marketers to achieve success together.

Primary job responsibilities
Lead message development and positioning for the portfolio of Red Hat OpenShift Kubernetes platform and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offerings
Define market segmentation and develop the right marketing strategy that maps to target buyer, business problems and IT initiatives aligned with business opportunities
Lead content strategy to create effective marketing assets and collateral, including whitepapers, presentations, case studies, solutions briefs, web content, data sheets, and sales kits in support of our marketing campaigns and demand generation efforts
Own and guide product launch strategy with a cross-functional team; develop objectives and success metrics for the introduction of new offerings
Define sales enablement strategy for our sellers in inside, field, technical, and partner-facing roles; develop and deliver sales enablement content and playbooks
Coordinate with strategic partners where appropriate to align messaging and solutions; create materials that can be used by all relevant partners for their marketing efforts
Establish business value of our offering and develop effective content to help our field and customers make their business cases
Gather competitive intelligence on our key competitors; develop differentiation materials for the field and for external consumption
Lead industry analyst and media briefings
Required skills
10+ years of product marketing experience with a solid background in container, Kubernetes, and cloud-native technologies
Proven record as a respected people manager and team lead
Knowledge of the infrastructure, application development, and cloud markets, including key players, market trends, key industry analysts, and the overall technology direction
Proven record of building, getting buy-in for, and carrying out marketing plans while staying focused and getting things done in a fast-moving, technical environment
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain and translate complex technology concepts into simple and intuitive communications
Experience working effectively in an persuasion-driven, cross-functional environment
Ability to be meet deadlines and handle multiple projects at once while working in a highly complex environment
Experience with social media and digital marketing
Bachelors degree in engineering, computer science, marketing, business, economics, or a related area; MBA is a plus
