Ecosystem Growth Engineer REMOTE ENGINEERING IPFS FULL-TIME We seek an extraordinary Ecosystem Growth Engineer to help lay the foundation for a more resilient and secure, decentralized version of the web. Ecosystem Operations at Protocol Labs We create software systems that tackle significant challenges. In re-decentralizing the web, we work on hundreds of open source projects pursuing everything from research to end-user products. Ecosystem Operations at Protocol Labs for the IPFS Project is focused on growing and nurturing the community around those projects and the broader decentralized web movement. The Ecosystem Growth Engineer for the IPFS Project is a strategist in their heart. It will engage both with the technical pieces that make up our systems, the communities that make them run and creates the tooling and analysis necessary to better inform the Organization, its Working Groups and decision makers. As a Ecosystem Growth Engineer at Protocol Labs you will Identify key metrics on the size and shape of different developer communities. Research and Identify the correct distribution channels for deploying IPFS into the world. Create optimized plans to do so. Work with community members in a global community of diverse cultures and languages to drive community engagement and goals across projects. Research and present data about potential communities we can engage with. Create go-to-community (similar to go-to-market) plans for how to engage with and grow in specific technical communities. Prioritize projects in Community Operations to best deliver on organizational goals. Play a key role in defining the strategy of Protocol Labs in reaching developers. You may be a fit for this role if you have… Experience building open source communities. Experience organizing developer events. Experience researching and gathering metrics about open source communities. Familiarity with peer-to-peer technologies. Strong written communication skills in short form, medium form, and long form. Bonus Points… Familiarity with concepts like content-addressing and merkle trees. Participation in communities focused on decentralization. What’s it like to work at Protocol Labs?
