Kaplan also provides private tutoring and graduate admissions consulting services. Job Impact and Scope Summary

  • Acquire, develop, and maintain a list of ~100 frontlist and backlist titles in the test prep and admissions categories
  • Report to editorial director, test prep
  • Contribute to the development and direction of test prep and admissions programs based on knowledge of the competitive landscape and evolving retail opportunities
  • Maintain expertise on trends involving standardized tests and educational content delivery
  • Collaborate with other key stakeholders throughout the organization to ensure clear brand identities and effective publishing strategies
  • Acquire and edit manuscripts authored by subject matter experts
  • Contract with subject matter experts to review and provide feedback for new and revised projects
  • Negotiate agreements with authors and contributors
  • Partner with digital content and LMS teams to develop online components
  • Collaborate with production, sales, and marketing teams to develop publishing plans and schedules
  • Collaborate on the development and implementation of series style and design guidelines
  • Ensure that product metadata is complete, accurate, and created in a timely manner
  • Create and analyze product P&Ls prior to acquisition, and regularly monitor margins to ensure program profitability

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Minimum 3 years test prep editorial, reference, or study aids publishing experience
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and analytic skills
  • Ability to create and execute against financial and product development plans
  • Ability to contribute both as a leader and as a member of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft and Google applications
  • Must be authorized for employment in the US
