We are looking for an experienced Ruby on Rails developer who is passionate about high quality code and willing to join a team who takes clean code and TDD very seriously. The ideal candidate would be fluent in English and have outstanding communication and leadership skills. About Us: Stack Builders is an Agile software consultancy based in New York with offices in Quito, Ecuador. Some of our projects are currently using Ruby on Rails, TypeScript (Node.js), and Haskell in the back-end, with PureScript, JavaScript, and React in the front-end. We are passionate about providing clean and maintainable code that surpasses our clients’ expectations.We work in a variety of languages. We value developers who are flexible about working with different stack configurations, feel confident about tackling new challenges, and aim toward excellence.We are looking for a remote contractor with a very solid Ruby on Rails background and experience working with agile methodologies to become a member of our team.Beyond Ruby on Rails, what other abilities should the candidate have?- An advanced English level is a must as all internal communications are conducted in this language.- Effective communication and leadership skills are highly appreciated.- We use Git and version control for all projects and expect proficiency in using them.Additionally, as modern applications demand, some knowledge of the Node.js ecosystem is required as well, such as webpack, transpilers, and testing frameworks. This position would most likely last for at least 6 months and would require a commitment to provide 30-40 hours a week (occasional vacation with previous notice is fine).
