The Red Hat People (HR) team in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region is looking for an HR Advisor to join us in Farnborough, U.K. In this role, you will provide HR services across the U.K. and advise associates and managers on a broad range of topics covering the entire talent life cycle. As part of the overall responsibilities, you’ll manage local HR initiatives in collaboration with HR manager and HR administrator and support different HR programs in cooperation with other team members.


  • Advise associates and managers in the country on a broad range of HR matters related to the employee life cycle, including performance management, employee relations, sickness and absences, leave management, retention, and separations
  • Resolve associate and manager queries in collaboration with the U.K. HR team and global HR teams as appropriate
  • Conduct meetings with associates and managers, moderate discussions, assess situations, and provide adequate solutions and resolutions
  • Serve as the policies and process expert for the country; bridge the gap when these do not exist
  • Cover HR administrative activities as necessary
  • Support local projects and multiple HR programs across the country, covering a broad range of topics from performance and engagement to HR service delivery optimization
  • Contribute to new HR initiatives for the country working in close cooperation with the EMEA HR functional teams to ensure market adequacy, accuracy, and alignment to global guidelines
  • Contribute to the overall team strategy and service delivery to customers while serving as an ambassador of the company culture and values

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 4+ years of experience working as part of an HR team
  • Good project management skills
  • Ability to structure and coordinate multiple activities with a solid focus on implementation
  • Good collaboration and interpersonal skills; ability to work as part of a team
  • Solid customer service approach
  • Highly detail-oriented
  • Fluent language skills in English
  • Flexibility and a desire to make things happen
  • Experience with multiple HR-related programs focused on compliance, performance, compensation, or training is a plus
