Salesforce.com is looking to hire an Infrastructure Operations Engineer to join the Collaboration team.
This support role is accountable for all Streaming Media and Digital SIgnage technologies, along with supporting other related communications tools that enable our business to collaborate effectively between internal and external customers,
Primarily responsible for the design review and implementation of said tools, and ongoing support and administration including vendor management, and life cycle management of both hardware/software.
The candidate should drive continuous improvement and growth of the company through strong technical skills and experience in the industry. The candidate must be able to see projects through all stages, including defining, requirements, drafting and presenting technical proposals, deploying and maintaining the best solutions. A strong commitment to technical excellence and teamwork will be required, as this individual will be involved in influencing decisions and lead change within the Business Technology (BT) Organisation.
This position may require some off-hours maintenance work.
Lead technical projects and take ownership of the audio/video technologies in deployment. This includes working alongside architects and other engineers to design a solution that aligns with company vision and growth
Analyse, design, test, install, document, implement and support of the global converged network
Define and create SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) in the production environment (change, upgrade)
Gather requirements, create and communicate scopes of work, quotes, change orders and documentation
Considers and recommends new technology needs and solutions for anticipated needs of the business
Develop technical solutions documents as well as documents that describe a solution to business partners
Demonstrate good judgment in solving problems as well as identifying problems in advance, and proposing solutions
Prepare and maintain up to date documentation for internal and external customers detailing the configuration of deployed solutions
Leads problem resolution activities and root cause reviews and analysis. Ability to tech/shadow other junior Engineers in new solutions/technologies
Develops high-level project timelines and resource estimates. Develops product refresh schedules. Consistently delivers on assignments
Provide 2nd tier support for our production environment
Ability to travel for deployment (20%)
Unique skill set for Streaming:
Familiarity with CDN architectures (caches, origin servers, proxies, etc) is a plus
Proven understanding of HTTP/S Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills using network analysis tools such as WireShark, etc
Ability to work well with tight schedules and rapid development cycles
A self-starter who possesses extraordinary time management skills with great attention to detail, and the ability to work independently when handling multiple priorities
Unique skill set for Digital Signage:
Coordinates efforts and prioritise work of third-party and internal resources for the maintenance, administration, and support of digital signage solutions, providing hands-on troubleshooting support when needed
Document inventory of all hardware as well as all support processes and responsible parties; ensure documentation is up to date and accessible at all times
Demonstrated knowledge of existing digital hardware/software solutions as well as industry trends and emerging innovations
Previous experience implementing digital signage solutions of moderate to high visibility and scale
Bachelor degree, or equivalent in IT with a certification in relevant Technologies
The ideal candidate should have at least 3 to 5 years experience in a corporate IT , or AV integration environment with 3+ years’ experience in commercial deployments
Innovative, energetic, and able to adapt to new processes and procedures quickly while under pressure and dealing with ambiguity
Past experience to run production live events is a plus
Strong analytical and organisational skills, with passionate attention to detail
A desire and ease in establishing credibility with fellow engineers through mutually deep technical skill sets
Communicate with managers throughout BT Infrastructure. Ability to make presentations to managers and/or other engineers
Excellent problem-solving skills. Able to take complex tasks or problems and break it into smaller more manageable pieces. Works with vendors to resolve issues. Feels comfortable working with customers and gathering requirements
Strong cross team relationships and has relationships in other domains. Strong collaboration skills
Strong persuasive skills and ability to influence decision making. Leverages strong relationship through team and across function
