12 month fixed term contract / full time

Location: The successful candidate may be based in a country where one of the independent National/Regional Greenpeace organisations (NRO’s) is located (subject to agreement). See the locations here. Greenpeace is an independent global campaigning organisation, which uses peaceful, creative confrontation to expose global environmental problems, and develop solutions for a green and peaceful future.

 

Greenpeace International is looking for two Internal Communication Specialists to provide communication support via written content and strategic advice in the Executive Director’s Office (EDO). These roles will report to the Director of the Executive Director’s Office, working very closely with the International Executive Director.

The two hires will design, deliver and implement a communication strategy to support all Greenpeace International wide internal communications activities, emphasising conversation and connection and to increase awareness and engagement of staff both locally and globally around key events, initiatives and priority projects.

 

Some key areas of focus will be:

 

Leadership Engagement Strategy & Implementation

 

Develop and implement a communication strategy to increase interaction between senior leadership and GPI staff in order to increase awareness and engagement of staff and GPI globally around governance processes, events and key initiatives, incorporating a variety of communication outlets and styles.

 

Global Staff Engagement and Wellness Strategy and Implementation

 

Deliver a proactive and transformational communication strategy and ensure alignment, coordination and sequencing of activities and consistency of messaging on key initiatives related to staff engagement, wellness, ED&I (Equity, Diversity & Inclusion) and change processes.

Role requirements:

  • Professional experience in internal communications

  • Professional experience coordinating and creating internal communications during organizational change

  • Experience with developing and executing employee engagement strategies and developing communications that drive clarity and tell a story that inspires employees

  • Proven commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and ability to collaborate with cross-cultural teams

  • Ability to turn complex messages into communications that are appropriate for different audiences

  • Track-record of navigating a complex organization and ability to remain adaptable during ongoing transformation

  • Ability to forge positive working relationships quickly and effectively

  • Articulate, innovative, creative and passionate, with excellent written and editorial skills in English

  • Ability to work independently and in project teams

  • Ability to run simultaneous projects to meet tight deadlines

  • Digitally literate: Good skills working with digital tools and online systems; willing and able to learn new ones.

  • Data informed: Comfortable using data insights when taking decisions.

  • Support for and belief in Greenpeace core aims and values.
