At Publitas we’re looking to add a Legal Counsel (Contracts and Compliance Specialist) who will be responsible for all Publitas Legal Operations. You will support commercial transactions while managing legal risk, ensuring regulatory compliance, negotiating commercial relationships, reviewing and drafting needed documentation.

You will be a trusted advisor, who enhances decision-making throughout the company and supports the success of Publitas’s strategy. This position will be reporting to the CEO and working together with all tactical team members

This is a fantastic opportunity to be an important part of a successful, fast-growing, tech scale-up. You’ll play a key role in scaling the Publitas legal function to achieve our ambitious plans and help meet the challenges of global expansion.

Responsibilities:

• Drafting and negotiating high-quality contractual arrangements including but not limited to Commercial contracts, NDA’s, Vendor contracts, Employment contracts.

• Reviewing and negotiating Terms & Conditions, MSAs, SaaS Agreements, DPAs, RFPs, and other types of agreements, providing advice and solutions in relation to a wide range of related issues

• Good understanding of corporate governance and compliance with a specific focus on GDPR, Employment, and Payroll related instances.

• Ensuring colleagues understand and are aware of their obligations and implement best practices to protect the interests of the company.

• Reviewing and updating existing contracts, templates, and processes and maintaining an organized system of digital (physical only where needed) records to ensure all deadlines and conditions described on contracts are met.

• Protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of company and customer information.

• Supervise external lawyers.

• Conduct various additional other legal and ad-hoc projects as required.

• Keep up to date with legislative changes and pro-actively drive understanding across business

• Ensure accurate due diligence and compliance with corporate policies and applicable law

• Counsel on corporate governance and legal entity issues in the operating regions.

• Control legal risk at all levels of the company.

• +5 years experience in this specific type of role.

• Excellent academic credentials.

• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.

• Sound understanding of data privacy and data security.

• Positive, ‘can do' attitude. Hard-working, committed, with a client-service focus in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

• Able to organize, plan and prioritize work (time management). Highly dependable and able to meet deadlines.

• Demonstrates a good understanding of legal principles, concepts, practices, and standards of contract administration.

• Ability to analyze legal risks within contracts and know when appropriate to escalate to legal support for further evaluation or approval

• Working with risk and safeguarding in the agreement of contracts as well as the fulfillment of producing ongoing contractual documentation

• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with peers, all levels of management, and external resources. Ability to negotiate with an array of businesses and individuals

• Able to juggle many matters at once and quickly shift from one task to another

• Able to effectively collaborate across teams with an attitude that no job is too big or too small

• Thinking outside the box in confronting new issues and pursuing novel approaches to problems

• Attention to detail, yet comfortable dealing with ambiguity

• Takes initiative and accepts personal responsibility

• Ability to work effectively with Google applications

• Experience or knowledge of ISO 27001, ISO 27002, ISO 27005, and ISO 22301 standards

• Other areas of expertise, such as privacy and security (including GDPR), intellectual property, will be considered highly valuable

• Knowledge of legal practices in the EU region

• Experience in using contract management software.
