SOSi takes affirmative action in support of its policy to advance diversity and inclusion of individuals who are minorities, women, protected veterans, and individuals with disabilities. 1-190325-8724: Linguist / Translator (Multiple Languages) Location: U.S. & Overseas JOB DESCRIPTION SOS International LLC (SOSi) is seeking On-Call Linguists/Translators in Multiple Languages to provide Translation, Transcription and Interpretation in support of a major language project ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES Linguist shall research websites and produce reports in a specified format and may be responsible for populating spreadsheets Linguist shall differentiate information of value and summarize in an understandable format Summarize and translate foreign language material into clear, understandable and idiomatically correct English MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Linguist must possess native or near native competency in the foreign language Linguist must read, write and speak the specific foreign language at a fluent or native level Must be familiar with the culture, media, and language of the region Must possess excellent English written and verbal communication skills Bachelor’s Degree or higher is preferred (ideally completed in native country) Minimum of 3-10 years of experience in language support DESIRED SKILLS Ability to supplement language capabilities with knowledge of professional fields such as medical, logistics, communications, engineering, legal, politics etc. is beneficial ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Work Environment Personnel can expect to work remotely Shift and weekend work may be required
