The Red Hat Consulting team is looking for a Manager of Consulting Services to join us ideally in Chicago, IL, or in Minneapolis, MN, Milwaukee, WI, or Madison, WI. In this role, you will develop, cultivate, and manage relationships within key customer accounts. You will oversee the successful delivery of projects under your management from kickoff to closeout, including determining scope details and monitoring the project's progress to ensure that it conforms to customer expectations and contractual agreements. You will also help identify and qualify new business opportunities and work with the Red Hat’s sales team to formulate account strategies that promote revenue growth. You will work with Red Hat’s sales representatives to guide consulting sales opportunities from qualification to closing while managing all assigned projects and resources and meeting revenue, margin, and booking goals. As a Territory Services Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing senior and associate consultants and as such you will be expected to lead one-on-one meetings, provide support in escalation situations, lead performance and development conversations, and coordinate the general team with architects and project managers within your region. You’ll need to have a good foundation of technical knowledge, as well as project and scope management expertise, as you'll establish the technical and non-technical enablement needs for the consulting team.


  • Sell Red Hat's solutions using the business requirements of your customers to create unique technical offerings, including Open Innovation Labs engagements
  • Grow your territory through the development of internal business partnerships with the field sales team and alliance and partner programs
  • Design and implement effective, high-impact technical and business solutions for Red Hat's customers with a focus on our middleware technologies, specifically Red Hat OpenShift
  • Accurately and consistently provide revenue and booking forecasts for your territory
  • Manage revenue and booking goals across all practices; meet margin and use targets
  • Ensure successful delivery of all projects
  • Coordinate customer managers who manage consultants, fostering a culture of collaboration within your team

Within a year, you will be expected to do the following:

  • Sell and manage complex, multi-product solutions using the scaled agile framework (SAFe) methodologies
  • Grow your revenue base on a quarterly basis
  • Manage escalations without supervision
  • Assist with negotiating Red Hat’s master services agreements and statements of work with the customers and the legal team

  • Knowledge of technical or business consulting practices
  • Project delivery experience
  • Experience with internal or external sales
  • Ability to architect complex solutions using multiple offerings and technologies to deliver requested business value
  • Solid people management skills
  • Experience adhering to agile methodologies within project teams
  • Knowledge of application development or cloud solutions creation and delivery
  • Experience and willingness to speak at public conferences and meetups
