Enable customers to define, develop, and deploy their next-generation middleware and cloud-native application development strategies. The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a Middleware Sales Specialist to join us in the New York metropolitan or New Jersey area. In this role, you will support Red Hat's strategy to promote the sharing and adoption of Red Hat Middleware solutions with enterprise commercial accounts. You'll be responsible for building strategic relationships with executives and key business leaders to promote our portfolio of middleware solutions, including application development, application and service hosting, business rule management, business process management (BPM), content aggregation, data federation, and service integration on-site or in the cloud. As a Middleware Sales Specialist, you'll need to have experience working with Fortune 500 accounts and selling middleware and application development solutions. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.


  • Work with the key and mid market sales teams to plan the overall middleware and Red Hat OpenShift strategy within a set of defined accounts
  • Guide the customer from their initial adoption of basic application server technology and grow the account to include container and microservices-based application development platform, rules engines, BPM platforms, ESBs, enterprise messaging, portals, etc.
  • Gain the trust of senior IT and business executives within key accounts and create long-term partnerships
  • Work with key account and mid market sales teams to ensure that Red Hat OpenShift and Red Hat Middleware solutions become the first choice for our enterprise customers

  • 5+ years of experience working in a solutions sales role
  • 5+ years of experience focused on application development or enterprise middleware like Red Hat Middleware, IBM WebSphere, Oracle WebLogic, TIBCO, or Mulesoft
  • Background in consultative customer engagement with a middleware provider or on the sales team of a middleware reseller
  • Broad technical experience with enterprise middleware technologies
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; ability to present to executives at large firms
  • Ability to sell solutions in a multi-product environment
  • Proven ability to work with global, cross-functional teams and achieve success for customers
  • Balance of strategic and tactical skills
  • Master's degree or equivalent is a plus
