The Red Hat Consulting team is looking for an OpenStack Senior Consultant to join us. In this role, you will earn the trust and confidence of customer engineering, development, and operations teams through a series of in-person and remote interactions by aligning their requirements and use cases to the functional capabilities of our solutions. You'll play a critical role in bringing together cross-functional teams from Red Hat's product, Product Engineering, Support, Professional Services, and Sales teams to meet the needs of our most demanding customers. As an OpenStack Senior Consultant, you will serve as a customer advocate with these organizations to deliver the right solutions and to ensure that these solutions are implemented and supported in an innovative and reliable way. This is a remote position with weekly travel to customer sites and it can be located anywhere in North America (NA) within close proximity to an airport. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.

• Implement and integrate Red Hat's open hybrid cloud technologies, including Red Hat OpenStack Platform, Red Hat OpenShift, and Red Hat CloudForms
• Collaborate with project and customer team members to meet timelines and goals
• Contribute to project documentation and diagrams, including quality assurance (QA) and ticket and bug management
• Mentor and share knowledge with customers
• Develop and implement automation and integration for our customers' cloud and system infrastructure solutions using Ruby, Python, and Puppet
• Work with senior associates to guide adoption of automation techniques and DevOps processes to improve the cloud life cycle, including infrastructure and application uptime, availability, and time-to-market
• Design and advocate solutions using cloud technologies, design principles, integration points, and automation methods

• 7+ years of working experience in a related technology position, e.g., consulting, operations, development, or related internships
• 5+ years of experience with cloud and Linux technologies
• 3+ years of experience with automation frameworks and tools like Puppet, Red Hat Ansible Automation, or CFEngine
• Advanced skills with command line tools and scripting, e.g., Ruby or Python
• Background in designing and delivering implementations using cloud infrastructure technologies and providers, e.g., Red Hat OpenStack Platform, Red Hat Virtualization or KVM, VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V, Xen, Rackspace Cloud Services, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Microsoft Azure
• Thorough knowledge of either cloud software-defined networking (SDN) or storage (object and block) disciplines and DevOps models and technologies
• Extensive experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration and design
• Ability to travel Monday - Thursday to work on site with customers throughout the United States up to 75% annually
