Payment Process Manager (Temp to Perm) at Wikimedia Foundation San Francisco, CA or Remote Status: Temp to Perm The Wikimedia Foundation is looking for a strategic and analytical Payments Expert to drive the payments strategy and operations for the organization. Payments are a core component of Wikipedia’s Fundraising platform and a key to success for our 2030 organizational vision, enabling mission-aligned readers to become donors and support the Wikimedia mission. This position’s role is to make payments efficient, effective, and low-cost, while contributing to our global payments strategy. This Expert will be a part of the Fundraising Operations team and manage the day to day risk and operations, bug reports, network and PSP relationships, and work cross-functionally with finance, engineering, and directors to drive and execute the payments strategy. We’d like you to do these things. Manage global operations for all payment providers by owning key relationships and manage operational components of those relationships, including on-boarding, escalation, reconciliation and day-to-day operations Monitor and analyze transaction metrics to discover trends and inform product priorities Collaborate with Fundraising leadership to further develop the Payments Operations strategy by defining, executing, and communicating operational processes, standards, and a roadmap to expand capabilities, drive growth, and increase operational efficiency Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Legal, Finance, Engineering, etc) to optimize payment flows aiming to increase revenue and manage costs Support cross-functional teams for payment platform to build out critical tools, create and automate processes where possible, and address longer-term or recurring issues Execute payment programs effectively by supporting implementation teams within payments and across the entire organization as a subject matter expert on operational matters. Be responsible to maintain service levels globally We’d like you to have these skills: 3+ years experience in payment operations and/or partnerships, e-commerce Deep understanding of the entire payments ecosystem including international methods and alternatives, payment processors and gateways, acquiring banks, card networks, authorizations, and settlement Experience managing projects for complex cross-functional initiatives Exceptional analytical skills; 80/20 thinker that is able to quickly prioritize and be tactical about getting to impact fast – bias for action Ability to communicate clearly and interact daily with executives on key strategic topics Very strong relationship management and negotiating skills Positive attitude and willingness to roll up sleeves and dig deep to achieve goals Excellent organizational skills including prioritizing, scheduling, time management, and meeting deadlines Data-driven approach for ongoing operational performance measurement and tracking Team player, who cares deeply about his or her own work and also helps colleagues succeed Emotionally mature and self-reliant; tolerates ambiguity and maintains positive, respectful professional relationships Bachelor’s degree And it would be even more awesome if you had the following: Non-profit payment processing knowledge and management Excellent cross-group collaboration skills, ability to impact and influence outcomes in a matrixed environment Proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously Being vocally self-critical About the Wikimedia Foundation Fundraising Team: Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects are authored and edited entirely by communities of volunteer contributors.
