What you'll be doing: 

Reporting to our Founder and CEO, the People Operations Manager will champion Forma.ai's culture and values. We'll be looking to you to lend your strategic and operational expertise to the team on all people-related matters. You're responsible for not only setting the HR strategy but executing it as well. So, get ready to roll up your sleeves! 

You'll build programs, processes, and policies (some from scratch). Needless to say, you're a true people person with a passion for supporting great teams and helping them thrive. You see the team's success as your success. 

More about the team and the work we've done: 

Right now, the People team consists of a Head of Talent, two Recruiters, and an Office Manager. We're also closely connected to our Finance Manager who's helped create and manage a number of our people-focused programs.  

Within these past few months, we've made a lot of improvements to our people programs. For instance, we launched a minimum vacation policy, increased our sick days and PTO allotment, and started offering benefit coverage to all employees on their first day with Forma.ai. Hopefully, these initiatives show how invested we're in increasing our people programs. 

We also recently transitioned from using BambooHR to Dayforce HCM. We're excited to be launching Carta soon to help manage employee equity. We know there are plenty more people tools we can be leveraging and we're excited to hear about them from you. 

As a People Operations Manager, you'll be contributing in the following areas: 

  • You'll serve as a leader and champion for people at Forma.ai, nurturing an inclusive environment that enables everyone on the team to be their best self and do their best work 
  • You'll help maintain the health, communication, and alignment of the team 
  • You will have strategic and operational ownership of all HR functions including feedback and performance, employee engagement, compensation and benefits, and all people-related programs, processes, and policies 
  • You'll develop and implement learning and development programs that enhance the team's skills, capabilities, and promote career progression 
  • You'll be a compassionate and bar-raising partner to all Forma.ai employees in developing and refining leadership abilities 

What we're looking for: 

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience 
  • Previous experience working in a high-growth and/or technology-focused organization 
  • Demonstrated success in cultural development, performance management, compensation planning, total rewards, employee relations, HRIS platforms, and training 
  • Proven track record of designing, launching and leading successful company-wide initiatives with cross-functional teams 
  • Strong working knowledge of Canadian employment law, practices, and policies 
  • Superlative organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
