As Cloud Solution Engineer you are part of a bigger international team within the EMEA region. You will work with ambitious and dynamic sales teams in Malaga and Amsterdam, covering the market area of Germany, Nordic countries (Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway), and Switzerland. This role is based in city center of Amsterdam but due to the international character, you will have the opportunity to visit other locations for work and training.
In this role you will have the unique opportunity to architect cloud solution across the full business and IT stack and talk with customers in all industries. Your solutions range from (not limited to) Security, Internet of Things, Big Data, Analytics, Integration, Application Development, Database and Infrastructure within the PaaS and IaaS part of Oracle portfolio.
The main responsibility of the Cloud Solution Engineer is to secure Oracle solution selection. You will assist our German Sales Representatives, also based in Amsterdam, to drive the sales of Oracle Cloud solutions. You will advise our Customers on how to address their business challenges and map the best Oracle Cloud solution to manage these challenges.

Be a technical expert on Oracle Technology and Cloud solutions both for customers and internally in Oracle.
Delivery of an outstanding customer experience in-person and remotely.
Deliver customer presentations & demos highlighting the value of Oracle's Solutions.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge and expertise in Oracle Technology and Cloud solutions and market trends.
Develop customer-specific value propositions highlighting benefits and differentiators of Oracle
Represent Oracle at Technology marketing events.
Collaborate on customer opportunities with Oracle Sales, Solution Engineering and Product Management communities.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Customer Engagement Skills:
Work experience in Solution Engineering or Sales Consulting position is required.
Excellent communication skills, able to articulate complex messages very clearly. You are a story teller.
You won't be satisfied until the job is done to the right quality for our customers.
Ability to work in (virtual) teams. To get a specific job done can require working together with many colleagues, partners and customers.
Self-motivated, you have the natural drive to learn and pick up new challenges.
Agile and happy to continually adapt to change.
Always looking to raise the bar of own skills/competencies development.
Comfortable in delivering presentations in person and remotely.
Bachelors or Master's degree in Computer Science
You have hands-on experience with technology solutions with Database, Middleware and/or Business Analytics Technology. Experience with implementation of Oracle Technology solutions is an advantage.
Knowledge of Oracle Cloud technology solutions or other cloud solutions is an advantage.
Understanding of the value for business of Cloud solutions, for IT departments, Lines of Business and Developers, is an advantage.
Proven Solution Architecture knowhow is an advantage (e.g. TOGAF certification).
MBA is an advantage.
Understanding of sales methodologies processes and disciplines is an advantage. The ability to positively contribute towards sales processes as well.
Excellent understanding of Customer's business challenges & needs.
Native in German and fluent in English.
Additional language skills are an advantage.

The primary focus of a Sales Consultant (Pre-sales) is to become an expert in a core set of Oracle products and solutions and to present the value proposition and benefits of our solutions to our partners, prospects and customers and internally to our sales force
As a Principal Sales Consultant you will be responsible as the expert for formulating and leading presales technical / functional support activity to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction, through on-line/in person sales efforts. Acts as a technical resource and mentor for less experienced Internet Sales Consultants. Focuses on large or complex sales opportunities that need creative and complex solutions. Develops productivity tools and training for other Internet Sales Consultants. Develops and delivers outstanding Oracle presentations and demonstrations. Leads any and all aspects of the technical sales process. Advises internal and external clients on overall architect solutions. Support sales team in online/in-person selling efforts. Expert level responsible for formulating and leading presales technical/functional sales support activity for customers, as well as Oracle community development of resources and solutions based on market needs. Approximate percentage of face to face interaction with customers to perform responsibilities is 15%
Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. 3 years vendor (sales and marketing) experience. 7 years business experience with relevant computer applications or database/tools. Ability to implement the most advanced product features. Thorough knowledge of system and application design. In depth knowledge of competitors. Demonstrated project management skills. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills: needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques. Ability to persuade others through presentations, demonstrations, and written communication. Ability to travel as needed. A/BS degree or equivalent, advanced degree highly desirable.
