Product Expert in the United States

Brand: Estée Lauder – Brand

(Remote position, work from home approximately 20 hours per week)

Must have recent previous employment with a brand in a retail position.

Position Description
The Online Product Expert is responsible for enhancing the online shopping experience by answering Live Chat /SMS and email inquiries from customers. Inquiries may include questions related to product features and benefits, usage, styling advice application tips and brand information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Service online customers by answering product related inquiries via email, Live Chat and other.
  • Achieve daily service standards and productivity benchmarks.
  • Communicate with customers in a friendly, respectful and informative manner to recommend products based on needs and preferences.
  • Suggestive sell products (up-sell) via product recommendations.
  • Report monthly trends that will help enhance the quality of the web site and service to customers.
  • Keep up to date on all web site content, features, promotions, and inventory issues to accurately inform and recommend products to a customer.
  • Attend monthly updates and online conference calls.
  • Attend seasonal brand seminars if available, and review all training materials to maintain product knowledge.
  • Support other members of the Customer Service team, Call Center representatives and Consumer Communications department to provide accurate and timely responses.
  • Keep up to date with interdepartmental email communications.
  • Report errors and issues regarding brand and/or technology in a timely manner.


  • Minimum of 2 years of brand experience at retail
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Strong command of the English language and proper grammar
  • Extensive product knowledge and makeup artistry skills
  • Proven outstanding customer service and selling skills
  • A desire to work with customers to enhance their online shopping experience
  • Ability to work independently, self-motivated
  • Positive, enthusiastic and professional
  • Proficient computer knowledge including Excel, Word, Outlook and IE, Chrome, Safari
  • Ability to flex-up hours when volume increases
  • Ability to work a consistent weekly schedule
  • Must have a working email address that can be used for internal correspondence with the NY office.

Computer Hardware/Software Requirements
You will be responsible for supplying your own computer hardware and upkeep of your system. Below please find our computer requirements:

  • Windows PC computer (Mac computers are not compatible with our software)
  • Minimum of 2048MB of RAM (2GB of memory).
  • Internet Service Provider with Cable “broadband” service (No DSL, WAN, or Dial-up connections)
  • Anti-virus software
  • Internet Explorer Version 8.0 or higher with all security updates installed
  • Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel software
  • Printer

An additional note
Any software that limits pop-up or pop-under windows must be removed from your computer. You must not install “Pop-up” killer software or ad-removal software. Our system will not function with this software installed on your computer.
