The Role

Reporting to the Vice President of Product Management, a Product Manager will play a key role in our commitment to providing an outstanding online identity and security services and solutions  to our clients. In this role, the incumbent will work with a variety of teams within the organization, including engineering, services, sales and channel, marketing and customer education teams. This is a customer-facing position that may also work with industry analysts with an emphasis on product life cycle management. An ability to understand client concerns when implementing cyber security solutions will be critical to the success in this role. While a background in software development is not  necessary, the incumbent must have an understanding of the software development lifecycle and be fairly comfortable with technical aspects of implementing a solution. Consulting within the cyber security space will be highly beneficial to the success in the role.  This position can be performed remotely and all applications from outside of the province of Alberta or Quebec will be considered at this time. Job Responsibilities/Objectives:

  • Perform market, product and competitive research on an ongoing basis in order to determine market trends, identify market opportunities and highlight product gaps or limitations.
  • Conduct interviews and collect feedback from key stakeholders including sales, solution engineers, professional services and customers to help drive product direction and technical prioritization of new features and enhancements.
  • Collaboration with product engineering and QA to develop an execution strategy for new products and major product features. Including, documenting the core user stories, definition of delivery phases and tracking and progress to ensure timely delivery. 
  • Providing early feature demonstrations to solicit feedback from key stakeholders throughout the development process
  • Work with product marketing to help define the go-to-market strategy and communicate business value for new products and features.  
  • Help build out technical sales tools and presentations, field enablement, and product launch materials. 
  • Help evaluate and target strategic technical partnerships that will complement our offerings in the market.  
  • Define key user stories and requirements relevant to the integration, manage the technical relationship with the partners and assist product marketing in the development of joint go-to-market materials.  
  • Review customer submitted feature request backlog, prioritizing requests to be included as part of the product roadmap.
  • Translate product  feature needs of customers to the engineering organization.
  • Present product roadmap items to both internal and external audiences including, sales, services, support, customers, and industry analysts.

Required Education and Training Qualifications:   

  • Bachelor's degree  in computer science, engineering or  business. 

Required Work Experience and Skill Qualifications:   

  • 3-5 years of software product management experience (SaaS environment preferred)
  • Customer-facing experience, ideally within software consulting

Required Personal Competencies: 

  • Good communication skills and public speaking abilities 
  • Ability to conduct presentations and demos 
  • Ability to work effectively both individually and as part of a team
  • Ability to keep  up to  date with industry trends and  best practices 
  • Self-starter with an ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Nice to Have): 

  • Pragmatic Product Management training an asset. 
  • IAM/cyber security industry experience highly beneficial
