Job Details

The Small Business Essentials Business Unit is looking for an experienced Content Marketer to join the Awareness Marketing team. The content marketer will be responsible for leading content marketing and strategy for the small business team's Essentials audience segment.

This position requires a combination of a marketing and publishing mindset with proven experience developing content strategy, understanding of audience personas, customer journey maps, content distribution plans, and multimedia content. With a mastery in the art and science of content marketing, the content marketer must have the analytical abilities to gather key customer and business insights and apply strategic planning skills to content plans that engage the prospect at each stage of the buying journey.

The successful candidate is a strategic marketer who knows how to develop a content topic and market it in multiple ways and channels; comfortable collaborating with C-level executives and SEO analysts alike and creating original, engaging and insightful content as a result; a problem-solver who is comfortable making quick decisions in a fast-moving environment; and a team player who knows how to build the right relationships to move projects and achieve business goals.

Responsibilities

+ Map out content strategies for key marketing priorities; leverage data and research to develop breakthrough content themes/topics and execute a plan to develop the assets that support marketing objectives.

+ Create original thought leadership content including case studies, research, videos, blog posts, SEO articles and more.

+ Collaborate with internal content, PMM and creative teams to develop content that supports a consistent, customer-centric journey across paid, earned and owned channels.

+ Lead content audits to spot gaps in our existing content, as well as identify the characteristics of high-performing content. Work with stakeholders to make data-driven recommendations for new content and/or updates.

+ Stay abreast of the latest trends in content marketing. Experiments and innovates with content experiences to break through to new audiences in the SMB space.

+ Implement standards, systems, best practices and templates for content lifecycle.

+ Measure and analyze what's working and what isn't with regard our content marketing efforts.

Skillset

+ 5-8 years of marketing experience related to content marketing and social media.

+ Knowledge of current and emerging content marketing, social media, and content delivery trends

+ Integrated marketing and/or campaign experience

+ Analytical mind - ability to spot patterns and trends in content performance and data

+ Demonstrated success collaborating across departments and mobilizing content contributors and cross-functional teams around long-term projects and efforts

+ Attention to detail

+ Stellar writing, copywriting and editorial skills; writing samples and/or portfolio required

+ Knowledge of SEO best practices

+ Video marketing is a huge plus.

+ Small business background or experience working with the small business segment is preferred.

+ Experience with CMS and content operations tools such as Adobe Experience Manager and Kapost

+ Bachelor's degree or higher
