The Red Hat North America (NA) Public Sector Operations team is looking for a Proposal Manager to join us in Tysons Corner, VA. In this role, you will help with the proposal writing process. You’ll facilitate the creation of profitable and compliant proposals that address the needs of a diverse set of internal corporate customers and you’ll increase the effectiveness and productivity of the Public Sector Sales team. As a Proposal Manager, you will manage the deal structuring and also accelerate deal closures by meeting with sales teams to identify customer issues and assist in structuring proposals that meet their needs as well as Red Hat's requirements.

• Create and respond to complex government proposals
• Meet with Sales and cross-functional teams to qualify and compose proposals that comply with internal policies and procedures
• Work in collaboration with technical writer and sales teams to establish a strategy and winning response
• Maintain a repository of responses
• Communicate and train sales on consistent application of proposal guidelines
• Evaluate current processes and offer recommendations for improvement
• Track metrics on proposal response rates
• Complete any ad-hoc projects and analysis

• Bachelor's degree
• 2-5 years of experience in proposal writing and management
• Experience in federal government proposal writing is a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work on your own in a fast-paced environment
• Experience working with multiple stakeholders in proposal response
• Proficiency in building solid working relationships with internal teams
• Experience structuring multi-element proposals like subscriptions, licenses, services, or support
• Solid organizational and problem-solving skills
• Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) or Project
• Management Professional (PMP) certification is a big plus
