Quality Assurance Automation Engineer (REMOTE Opportunity)

Description

Data Innovations (DI) provides laboratories around the world with solutions that range from connectivity to full workflow management. Standardization, flexibility, control and quality are some of the reasons why more than 4,700 customers worldwide have DI in their lab. We are currently looking for a Quality Assurance Automation Engineer.

The Data Innovations Quality Assurance Automation Engineer will have extensive experience designing automated solutions to perform web app, mobile, API, and back end validation. This person will have an influential role within our organization helping to drive the delivery of quality software through regular collaboration with our development team.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement test automation framework.
  • Design and build end to end and regression automation tests for all layers of the application (UI and API).
  • Help define and implement QA practices, procedures, standards, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with Validation Manager in planning and implementing Performance Testing.
  • Provide daily status reports of testing progress and issues.
  • Participate in all aspects of the Agile process (Daily meetings, Grooming, Planning, Retrospective and demos).
  • Support and enhance the existing testing process by suggesting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide mentoring and training on automation for remote team and new team members.

Requirements

  • Good understanding and experience with programming or scripting languages like C, C++, Java.
  • Understanding of automation design patterns and software testing principles and methodologies.
  • Experience working with industry automation tools, such as Selenium, Protractor, HP UFT/QTP, SoapUI.
  • Experience in Continuous Integration environments.
  • Experience working in an Agile software development environment including participation in a team using one of the more commonly used process frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, XP, or Lean)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to easily learn new applications and tools
  • Experience working in a mobile, web, or back-end application development environment
  • Sponsorship for a non-immigrant work visa is not available for this position

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Computer Science and at least 4 years experience in development and/or testing automation role OR at least 8 years experience working in a related field from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
While performing duties of this job, the employee is predominately functioning in a sedentary light office position with high frequency of keyboarding, and computer use.

Preferred skills and experience:

In addition to the above requirements, the ideal employee/candidate could additionally have experience with the following:

  • Experience in regulated industry
  • Experience working with API / Restful services
  • Previous leadership/mentoring experience

Supervision Level

This person reports directly to the Validation Manager.
