QA Tester (Telecommute) ( ID # 13230 ) The Grain Inspection, Packers, and Stockyards Administration (GIPSA) is the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) agency that facilitates the marketing of livestock, poultry, meat, cereals, oilseeds, and related agricultural products, and promotes fair and competitive trading practices for the overall benefit of consumers and American agriculture. GIPSAs Federal Grain Inspection Service (FGIS) has a suite of web-based applications known as FGISonline that is used by FGIS and its partners and customers for many business processes. FGISonline provides a secure environment in which to conduct business by providing centralized security and administration of information and applications available to agency employees and external users. The applications are accessed over the public Internet. Cherokee Nation Technologies has been tasked to design, develop, test and deliver a customer portal which will replace a manual ordering system. This new portal will allow GIPSA customers to request inspection and weighing services, calculate the cost of those services, allow user to pay for the services and generate certificates documenting the quality of the products being inspected. We are looking for a Software UI QA Tester for web development in a .NET environment to develop test cases and requirements and apply rigorous testing techniques, processes, and tools to ensure the most robust coding is implemented. The application is Microsoft MVC-based with JavaScript components to perform specific tasks. Responsibilities: Define, implement, and execute manual and automated tests for web software components Develop test cases and map requirements to tests Perform integration, regression and user acceptance tests Manage and execute tests in Visual Studio and TFS Thoroughly document and manage bugs using TFS Work effectively in an Agile Scrum environment Required Qualifications: Excellent critical thinking and communications skills both oral and written Ability to pass a federal background check and drug screen Have an USDA Linc Pass or have the ability to obtain one Focus and independent drive to complete tasks Strong analytical and organizational skills Demonstrated ability to work independently/with minimal direction 2+ years of experience as a software tester 1+ years of recent Microsoft TFS 1+ years of recent Microsoft Visual Studio Great communication skills U.S. Citizenship required 100% remote at your location Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
