The Red Hat Quality Engineering (QE) team is looking for a Quality Engineer to join us in Brno, Czech Republic. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a difference in the way 3scale API management works. You’ll gain a deep understanding of a variety of technologies, including containers, microservices, service mesh, API management, etc. You’ll make sure that our solutions fulfill the highest possible enterprise quality, performance, usability, and supportability criteria. As a Quality Engineer, you will serve as the last instance before applications are released to the public. You'll create and carry out test plans, research new features, and develop automated tests. You’ll need to have the ability to think creatively and adapt to rapid change, as well as the willingness to learn new things.


  • Work with the complete Red Hat Integration portfolio and be responsible for the delivery of the Red Hat 3scale API Management offering
  • Create and review test plans and suggest improvements for product planning processes
  • Contribute bug fixes to upstream and provide demos of the solutions and technologies
  • Help team lead delegate and support the team; serve as a team lead backup
  • Develop new automated and manual tests; develop frameworks to ease test development and automation to speed up implementation
  • Mentor more junior team members
  • Help global customers like Lufthansa Technik or Amsterdam Airport Schiphol implement their solutions

  • Deep knowledge of an object-oriented programming language (preferably Ruby and Python)
  • Solid skills and background in Linux
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to design and code complex test cases and code (or contribute code to) frameworks which simplify test development and automation solutions
  • Ability to build solid relations in the team and encourage other team members to do the same; ability to lead by example
  • Experience with QE or a quality-oriented mindset

Familiarity with any of the following technologies is a plus:

  • Testing tools (Minitest or RSpec, Cucumber, Selenium, etc.)
  • Relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.)
  • Continuous integration (CI) tools (Travis CI, Jenkins, etc.)
