The Red Hat Quality Engineering (QE) team is looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to join us in Bangalore, India. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to make a difference in the way business automation offerings are built. You’ll gain a complete understanding of a variety of technologies, including core Java, REST, Google Web Toolkit (GWT), React.js, JUnit, and Apache Maven. You will make sure that our solutions fulfill the highest possible enterprise quality, performance, usability, and supportability criteria. As a Senior Quality Engineer, you'll be the last person with access to new applications prior to their public release. You'll help with testing of repaired issues, create and carry out test plans, research new features, and develop automated tests. You’ll need to have the ability to think creatively, adapt to rapid change, and have a willingness to learn new things.


  • Work with the complete business process management (BPM) solutions portfolio and be responsible for the delivery of the BPM designer in the Red Hat Process Automation Manager offering
  • Create sprint plans and participate in product planning processes
  • Develop new automated and manual tests; develop frameworks to ease test development and automation to speed up implementation
  • Participate in or perform root cause of issues to get a starting point to address problems
  • Serve as an internal advocate for our customers
  • Take responsibility for a component and supervise its successful testing in a timely manner
  • Make sure that solutions are ready for release to public audiences

  • 2+ years of experience in quality engineering (QE)
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related engineering field, or relevant professional experience
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to design and code complex test cases and code, or contribute code to frameworks which simplify test development and automation solutions
  • Ability to assist in or perform root cause analysis of issues and develop reproducers
  • Ability to take responsibility for writing complex test plans for a feature and provide usable time estimations on completion; ability to identify potential risks connected to test development of assigned feature and mitigate them
  • Solid skills in Java Script, JUnit, Apache Maven, and Git
  • Experience working with agile teams
  • Deep knowledge of Java and Java EE-related technologies
  • Ability to work as a part of a rapidly growing and evolving team
