The Role

Backend Engineers at Onfido help our R&D organisation build and operate resilient, scalable and healthy systems. 

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you’d a talented and friendly team which loves to delight its customers with quality and robust code. We care about user and developer experience and we work in an agile way to regularly ship code to production.

Tech Stack:

We are technology agnostic at Onfido , We are not looking for you to have experience in all these technologies. As long as you’re open to learn, please apply.

We currently use Python, Ruby and Elixir for our service code; AWS for underlying infrastructure.

We’re currently looking for Senior Back-End Engineers in the following teams:

The Integration Experience team build our public API and the integration layer of our SDKs. Its goal is to make Onfido the easiest service to integrate with, which involves understanding and improving the developer experience as well as removing blockers to businesses integrating with Onfido. The App Fraud team build our behavioural fraud Engine. Their goal is to capture more signals other than media and analyse it all together in context to provide more accurate fraud detection. Its skillset varies from data analysis, data pipeline, and mobile security. The SDK team develops Onfido’s four SDKs (Android, iOS, React Native & Web), which are embedded into customer applications to help users prove their identity.  They care deeply about image capture quality, accessibility, customisation and reducing friction for end-users. The Document Fraud team develops advanced techniques to protect Onfido’s customers from fraudsters attempting to exploit their services. They extensively use machine learning and computer vision to perform various checks on images of government-issued identity documents to verify their genuineness.

Where you will be:

At Onfido, we have a distributed workforce. For this role, you can work in any EU country where we have a legal entity. We have a hybrid model, and you can choose to work fully-remote, or come to our offices! We let all of our employees choose what’s best for them.
