We are seeking an experienced engineer with deep knowledge of python to help us build cutting-edge tools & products. We combine a modern built-in-house SAAS platform, a GraphQL API, and cutting-edge machine learning models into a comprehensive suite of services to help our customers do their job.
The team behind Host Compliance consists of an experienced group of data scientists, engineers and business people with backgrounds from Caltech, Harvard, and McKinsey. The company is profitable and has grown rapidly since launching out of Stealth mode in Q2 2016.

Key Responsibilities
- Take a lead role in architecting new software products
- Design, build, and maintain production-quality APIs
- Understanding how to build complex, performant queries in sqlalchemy backed by a PostgreSQL database
Some projects you might work on...
- Build new business logic served through a graphql api
- Design simple, effective caching strategies as our existing strategies break down
- Identify cloud native technologies to build robust, scalable solutions
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team to develop new products
- Identify pieces of our stack that should be outsourced so that we can focus on the software that differentiates our business

Requirements
- Python (5+ years)
- PostgreSQL or similar SQL environment (2+ years)
- SQLAlchemy (2+ years)
- Pandas (2+ years)
- A passion for fast-paced development and daily releases
- At least four hours of daily overlap with San Francisco working hours
