We’re on a mission to help people to speak English with confidence, and empower them to reach their potential. Since launching in 2016, we grew organically to over 2 million users worldwide. We are seeking a Senior Product Designer with a passion for language education to help bring amazing machine learning technology to the palms of English learners across the world! You will be the lead designer for the company, with opportunities to expand your team in the future. We solve complex user challenges by collaborating with cross-functional teams (product, customer support, engineering) to develop solutions in an agile engineering environment. Elsa has offices in Silicon Valley (USA), Lisbon (Portugal), and Saigon (Vietnam).

Responsibilities

  • Design intuitive and engaging interactions for iOS, Android, and web platforms
  • Apply creative ideas and inspiration from the world of game-design
  • Break any design problem down into viable actionable chunks and solve them with clarity
  • Create and ensure a consistent Elsa brand across iOS, Android, and web platforms
  • Execute on all parts of the design process: design direction, user-research, ideation, flows, mockups, visual design, spec & asset production, usability testing
  • Work with a remote team (located in Silicon Valley, Portugal, and Vietnam)
  • Provide strategic design thinking and leadership

Requirements

  • Demonstrated success with 5+ years in mobile consumer apps and gaming apps; proven track record of delivering high-quality designs
  • Passion for designing engaging experiences that appeal to an international audience
  • Strong ability to recognize use-cases, including happy path and edge case, and incorporate them into designs
  • Deep understanding of UX design patterns for mobile and mobile games
  • Experience with translating high-level requirements to interaction flows and then to functional beautiful designs
  • Excellent understanding of Apple’s interface design guidelines and Android design guidelines
  • Expertise with customer research and usability testing
  • Visual and design skills is nice to have, not a must have
  • Experience working with remote teams; experience working as a full-time member of a fast-paced product company
  • Knowledgeable in Design Toolsets: Adobe Creative CC and Sketch
