Senior DevOps Engineer, Philanthropy Cloud

Responsibilities:

We are building the next generation B2B2C platform for philanthropy. We are looking for a hands-on senior DevOps engineer to lead build, release, devops and cloud operations for our applications, platform, and core infrastructure. You will collaborate with product managers, top-notch software engineers, infrastructure and security engineers to design, build and operate a scalable, reliable, secure and extensible high performance B2B2C platform and applications.

Required Skills:

• Deep understanding and 5+ years of experience in continuous integration and delivery, release and configuration management, devops and cloud ops for web scale SaaS applications involving high data volumes and transaction rates

• Expert in Git, GitHub, CI/CD using gitflow/trunk-based, Split.io, Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, Docker, Artifactory, Ansible, Docker Registry and tools for blue-green, canary and A/B testing deployments

• Expertise in scripting languages such as Python, Golang, Shell, JavaScript

• Experience in Java/Spring/Spring Boot, Kotlin, Scala, Akka, Node.js/Express, SQL/NoSQL, JavaScript/React based application stack

• Experience in clustering and scaling database and application components such as Redis, Kafka, Spark, Postgres, Hbase, Elasticsearch, etc.

• Experience with REST/gRPC over HTTP and websocket

• Experience building secure software and good understanding of infrastructure and application security techniques and best practices

• Experience with microservice architectures

• Expert in Heroku, AWS cloud infrastructure and tools

• Bachelor's Degree in computer science or equivalent experience

• Experience in setting up automated tests using Java/JMeter/Selenium/JUnit/Maven/Jenkins

• Experience in Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, AWS Cloud Formation, OpenStack Heat Template, Spinnaker

• Expert in CentOS, CoreOS, RHEL, Ubuntu

• Expertise in Application/Cluster Management using Heroku, Mesos/Marathon, Mesosphere DC/OS, Kubernetes, Swarm

• Fluent in both Microservices and Monolithic application architectures

• Expert in monitoring, logging and operations tools such as ELK, EFK, Zabbix, Sysdig, Pingdom, Wireshark, DataDog, Nagios, NewRelic

• Proficient in Docker/Containers, Service Discovery, Network Overlay such as Navstar, Flannel, Weave, Multicast IGMP and Unicast.

• Proficient in persistent storage such as AWS EFS, Object and Block Storage, Docker Overlay2 and Flocker

• Expertise with system reliability, availability, scalability, performance optimizations for web scale systems Including: dynamic runtime load balancing, hybrid cloud, cross region active-standby and continuous data protection
