Platform Engineering's vision is to engineer services to run in the cloud and transform the organization by providing infrastructure as code (IaC). As Sr. Director of Core Infrastructure Engineering, you will lead a team of leaders and engineers that build infrastructure services and solutions. This spans Systems, Storage, Database and Network including private cloud, public cloud and Salesforce offices. We are aggressively marching towards "Infrastructure as Code" and are looking for passionate technologists that believe in shipping code to solve infrastructure problems. In this role, you will:

+ Maintain healthy collaborative relationships within your team and with adjacent teams while setting a high bar for performance.

+ Hire and retain top talent. Create a learning organization and continuously develop/grow talent on the team.

+ Motivate and align team members to achieve higher levels of success.

+ Establish relationships with peers across internal and partner organizations.

+ Set technical direction for the team in collaboration with product managers and participate in scoping work and managing backlog for predictable delivery.

+ Define roadmaps and priorities for growing and scaling infrastructure and associated tooling.

+ Act as Delivery Lead on key projects ensuring the overall success in achieving our business objectives across functional teams and partners through managing risk, blockers, schedule, and budget.

+ Manage vendor relationships and contracts, influencing vendor product roadmaps and ensuring strategic alignment

+ Manage the core infrastructure budget partnering with finance on forecasts and actuals

+ Advocate for availability, reliability, security, and scalability of our platform.

+ Define team specific metrics, SLAs, and KPIs.

+ Champion engineering rigor in operational practices by establishing mature development, test, release, and deployment processes that follow SDLC principles.

+ Cultivate a culture of innovation and operational excellence.

+ Take initiative to challenge and improve the status quo.

About you:

+ 13+ years' experience working in an infrastructure/software role.

+ 8+ years' experience managing infrastructure and/or software engineering teams in a fast paced, high-growth organization.

+ Experienced leading teams in an Agile environment

+ Able to juggle multiple projects and tasks with demonstrated knowledge of project management concepts and techniques.

+ Broad technical knowledge of infrastructure including but not limited to security, network, servers, storage, and databases.

+ Experience running services in Public Cloud and Migrating services to the Public Cloud

+ Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code, containerization, microservices, orchestration tools, distributed systems, etc.

+ Experience developing engineering roadmaps

+ Experience building and developing high performing teams in a growing organization

+ Experience leading large complex projects with high organizational impact

+ Familiarity with incident management, problem management, and change management.

+ Able to effectively communicate with and influence Executives at the C-Level

+ Able to make decisions and move forward without complete information.

+ You can lead and execute; masterfully managing the big picture and the small details.
