About the Position:
Mulesoft is looking for a senior technical leader to lead the cloud platform engineering teams. As the leader of the cloud platform teams, you would be responsible for
leading Cloudhub, a fully-managed, multi-tenanted, globally available, secure, and highly available cloud platform for integration and APIs
building the management and control plane for Anypoint cloud platform
building the Management Center framework for all Mulesoft Product to operate between control plane and runtime plane
The Sr. Director of Engineering will be responsible for management of multiple teams located in San Francisco and Buenos Aires, as well as remote employees.
You will drive this by:
Working with product and engineering managers to execute on the strategy for your product areas, help design the roadmap, and enable your team to execute that roadmap flawlessly
Coordinating, rationalizing, and creating architecture and standard development platforms and frameworks for your teams
Guiding teams through the development process using hands-on development and R&D
Working with our architects to lead the architectural vision across all cloud platforms including PaaS and API platforms
Providing guidance through service selection on AWS and other cloud providers
Being a decision maker around software architecture best practices, including scalability, performance, availability, maintainability, extensibility and security
Cultivating a culture of API and cloud services across the organization
Delivering new features at a rapid pace and pushing code into the cloud on a weekly basis
Requirements:
BA/BS in business, computer science, or related field, or equivalent experience with demonstrated proficiency
Excellent communication skills and problem-solving skills
Experience with highly-scaled or high-volume systems
Skilled at developing engineering managers
Experienced with managing teams that support high-volume production systems in tandem with new development operations
Experience gathering business requirements and formulating technical solutions
Experience managing a group of developers in a high-pace high-demand environment
Experience in Agile development
Experience in SaaS development environment, cloud and container technologies
Experience with application development using Java or modern frameworks
Experience with relational and non-relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL, MongoDB, etc)
Prior experience with using Kubernetes to build and operate large clusters is a plus
5+ years’ experience in leading and managing engineers
