About the Position

We're looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our team of engineers. Experience managing multiple teams and functions is valuable as you will be responsible for multiple teams owning different parts of our product.

The Senior Engineering Manager role will oversee the product services group which includes three teams and growing. In this role, you will have one Engineering Manager reporting to you to start and a few Individual contributors.

You should love helping your team grow and develop, taking care of their professional growth needs as well as quality of day-to-day work life.

You'll be a confident technical leader with the ability to facilitate conversations and decision-making within the team, as well as being an advocate for the team's work and needs. You'll direct the team and set priorities, setting best practices and goals to measure the success of the team.

You'll be responsible for hiring for the team and identifying skill areas we need to develop, with an eye to building a happy, healthy, diverse team of engineers.

You'll also work closely with other managers and leaders within the organisation to plan projects, schedule resourcing for those projects and identify risks due to staffing.

We have a main office in San Francisco, but we have a team spread all over the world, so remote applicants are welcome.

Our Ideal Candidate

• Experienced manager of a technical team
• Experience managing leads and/or Engineering Managers
• Familiar with the tool sets our engineers use (e.g. React, Redux, JS, HTML, CSS, Node.js)
• Ability to hire thoughtfully and quickly both engineers and managers
• Ability to develop the individual's skills and professional careers
• Can supervise work priorities and direction
• Can work with other leadership to set priorities and expectations
• Ability to work across multiple timezones with remote colleagues
• A desire to succeed personally through the success of the team

Netlify is a platform for developers to build, deploy, and manage modern web projects. Basically, it's an easy to use backend for your static website. 

We aim to perfect a unified platform that automates code; creating highly-performant sites and web-apps. Users should be able to simply push their code and let us take care of the rest.

Locations

About 63% of the company are remote across the globe, the rest are in our HQ in San Francisco. However to maintain a distributed culture we have Tuesdays and Thursdays as work from home days.
