Job Details

Salesforce is looking for a Sr. Infrastructure Security Engineer to join its Business Technology Department. As an Infrastructure Security Engineer you will join the team responsible for designing, building and maintaining innovative infrastructure security solutions that support the needs of our Salesforce employees. This includes, but is not limited to: endpoint detection and management solutions, software discovery tools, and scripting.

The candidate will need experience in designing and implementing secure solutions with keen attention to end user experience. The ideal candidate possesses passion and patience to coach other engineers and work closely with management as this individual will be expected to help drive our cultural transformation to scale and modernize by codifying our backend infrastructure, and standardize to agile & scrum methodology.


+ Design infrastructure roadmaps and strategies that scale horizontally while maintaining the balance between security, supportability, and usability

+ Establish close working relationships with Infrastructure Operations, Security, and Project Management

+ Participate in ongoing technology evaluations and keep up with technology trends and industry standards

+ Operate as a technical expert on infrastructure projects pertaining to Security and Endpoint Detection Host tools

+ Perform infrastructure service implementations, performance analysis and optimization, monitoring, problem resolution, upgrade planning and execution, and process creation and documentation

+ Continually analyze and work to improve the quality of services offered by Corporate IT

+ Ensure service availability & reliability of all infrastructure services.

+ Provide regular management updates on advantages and potential opportunities for new technologies and automation

+ Help resolve complex IT issues in a Tier 3 capacity

+ Train/Mentor junior staff members as appropriate

Minimum Qualifications:

+ 7+ years of design/support of enterprise environments with over 20,000 users

+ 7+ years of experience working with Windows and Linux infrastructure environments

+ 5+ years of experience working with Mac, Linux and Windows client environments

+ Proficient with endpoint security management and software discovery tools and platforms

+ Proficient in scripting languages - Visual Basic, Powershelll, Python, and Bash

+ Experience designing and implementing Security tools

+ Understand the workflow of the user community

+ Experience managing large-scale cloud infrastructure hosted on multiple OS platforms

+ Background in Information Security

+ Strong interpersonal skills to be able to effectively communicate and negotiate with both technical and non-technical audiences

+ Self-motivator able to take tasks or projects and run with them

+ Great oral and written communication skills

+ Strong analytical skills coupled with technical creativity and vision

+ Experience with Agile methodologies and principles. Preferably Scrum/Kanban.

Desired Skills/Experience:

+ Proficiency in Tanium

+ Experience with Agile Development Methodology

+ One or more industry certifications

+ Proficiency working with directory services such as Active Directory or LDAP

+ Proficiency in Network Virtualization and Security components including working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, IPSec thin/thick/web application architectures
