Senior Manager of IT Release, Environment & Deployment Services requires an IT Senior Manager with an understanding of enterprise application development life cycle, application release processes, environment planning & delivery, and code deployment processes and technology for large-scale IT organization. This position will be responsible for managing a team of IT Release Managers, Environment Manager, and Deployment Specialists at Hyderabad. The team is responsible for planning, coordination and oversight of IT application releases, emergency change requests, major program UAT & Production go-live cutovers, environment planning, delivery, and support, and IT application deployments. Teamwork closely with application development teams, IT Program Managers, and application system specialists to ensure successful delivery of IT releases, environments, and deployments. In addition to managing releases, environments, and deployments by leading cross-functional teams, the successful candidate will collaborate with Global Service Owners to support definition and evolution of release, environment, and deployment processes and automation to optimize efficiency and quality while meeting the demands of rapid growth and operational complexity of the enterprise IT landscape. This role will also be a Point-of-Contact for the Application Engineering teams in Hyderabad for engagement and guidance on how best to leverage services provided by our broader Enterprise Operations organization. The ideal candidate will have strong IT release management experience, IT environment management, IT application deployments, and IT program management experiences with multiple enterprise IT Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and on-premise applications.
Provide coaching and career guidance to team members.
Support the on-time delivery of high-quality, enterprise IT application releases and projects.
Manage and drive continuous improvement of IT release planning and execution processes.
Manage and enhance change control, release readiness and success criteria for the IT releases.
Manage and drive definitions of cutover planning and executions across major IT projects.
Manage and drive portfolio of release schedules and milestones.
Implement best practices consistent with agile development methodology and enterprise IT program management & delivery.
Manage and drive proactively identification and mitigations of risks and removal of obstacles to releases
Manage and drive the completion of root cause analysis and actions to ensure issues do not recur.
Coordinate environment planning, building, cloning, and refreshes with the Salesforce technology team, Infrastructure, DBA, and IT Release Engineering teams to implement application environments in support of the environment strategy and plan.
Support efficient sharing of environments across programs and releases as appropriate
Manage environment usage and deployment service calendars, SLA, and resource coverage.
Support processes and improvements for code and configuration deployment services across Salesforce, on-premise, and SaaS IT application platforms
Provide oversight for deployment of releases into production environments through ensuring release readiness and adequate deployment runlist handoff.
Minimum 6 years of people management, technical program management, or technical team leadership roles spanning multiple IT project phases (planning, development, testing, deployment, and support) of project delivery lifecycle.
Outstanding organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with engineers and executives simultaneouslyBachelors of Science degree in Computer Science or another technical field, preferred
Minimum 12 years of prior experience in enterprise IT applications, IT consulting, or system integration projects
Minimum 6 years of release management, environment management, and deployment service experience for a large-scale enterprise IT organization.
Experience implementing or supporting Salesforce.com platform preferred
Strong project management and process execution
Able to define and drive implementation of release and cutover management concepts, processes, and tools
Experience working within a framework of corporate risk controls (e.g. Sarbanes-Oxley)
Experience with agile development methodologies and the ITIL framework.
Proven leadership capabilities with matrixed teams.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Flexible and able to learn quickly in a dynamic environment and fast-paced environment.
Experience with multi-tiered system operations, including web, application, and database operational support & services.
Experience working with 24x7 operations and global delivery teams.
