We are seeking a Solution Engineering Manager to lead our Commercial Financial SE team. The SE Manager will work closely with Regional Sales managers to understand their account mix and sales opportunities in order to develop a Solution Engineering team best suited to that region.

Your Impact:
The Solution Engineer Manager will hire and allocate resources, perform employee reviews and evaluations, participate in strategic deals and back up team members as needed to grow the business. The SE Manager assists the Area Vice President of Sales in meeting their sales targets through actively working with their team members to solve difficult problems, and coordinating corporate/external resources when required. The SE Manager may at times be a player-coach

The Candidate

  • Possesses good analytic capabilities, be organized and able to work many tasks at the same time.
  • Recruits and retain exceptional SEs.
  • Trains and mentors new SE's quickly enabling them to win and expand Salesforce’s footprint in the account.
  • Partners with the AVP on all District, Territory, Account and Opportunity planning activities
  • Collaborates and aligns internal resources to aid SE and Sales team planning and sales success.
  • Reports / makes visible the success and deficiencies of your Area
  • Shares successes
  • Develops plans to improve deficiencies
  • Plan, architect, and document compelling technical and business-focused solutions and strategies which drive adoption and growth after the initial sale (land and expand)
  • Understand and articulate the key technical, operational, and commercial challenges faced by our prospects and customers that the Salesforce application addresses
  • Build and maintain relationships with key customers in the territory to solidify reference accounts and to assist the account teams with defining plans to drive more business
  • Develop and maintain strong technical relationships with Salesforce’s partners – identify key individuals at the partners within your region and ensure their success
  • Should be proficient with CRM technologies (or other Enterprise business applications) and be able to present to a business or technical audience.
  • Must be able to support the Sales Engineering team by providing guidance on sales strategies, approaches to solve specific problems, as well as a represent their team's needs to Salesforce.com's executive staff.
  • Should be able to communicate equally with internal resources such as Product Marketing, Development, and Sales Management to gain commitment and support. Must have good fundamental Sales Skills.
  • Also requires a conceptual knowledge of advanced technologies such as, but not limited to, Java, Web Services and Systems Architecture skills.


Desired Qualifications:

  • Prior SE Management Experience
  • Prior SE CRM Solution Experience
  • Prior experience in the Financial Services industry
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills
  • \"Whatever it takes\" attitude and motivation to do whatever necessary to assist in closing a deal.
