• *Job summary**

Red Hat's Financial Services Industry (FSI) Consulting team is looking for a Senior Platform Consultant to join us. In this role, you will work to gain understanding of customer infrastructures and business needs and make recommendations matching our customers' unique situations. You'll need to have solid technical and communications skills, including familiarity with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), virtualization, configuration management, and cloud technologies and a record of successfully applying these technologies to solve business problems. The role should ideally be located in Charlotte or Raleigh, NC. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.

• *Primary job responsibilities**

+ Deliver successful discovery, analysis, and design workshops for small to medium teams of both technical and non-technical backgrounds that shape customer use cases and architecture design decisions

+ Serve as a subject matter expert and mentor to our customers, explaining technical, developmental, and strategic IT requirements

+ Identify problems and then design, implement, test, and document a fitting architectural solution

+ Collaborate with Red Hat's product business, product engineering, consulting, support, and sales teams to ensure excellent customer experience with Red Hat's offerings

+ Scope delivery projects and guide customers through successful pilot and production deployments

+ Contribute to the development of repeatable methodologies and tools designed to scale Red Hat's services capabilities, promote repeatable customer engagements, and lower delivery risk

+ Demonstrate vision and expertise in open source community by producing outstanding whitepapers, webinars, etc., and by speaking at industry-leading conferences

• *Required skills**

+ Background in architecture design and experience implementing complex customer solutions in a rapidly evolving technology domain

+ 5+ years of experience designing and configuring Linux (preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux - RHEL), virtualization, and cloud technologies

+ 3+ years of experience with system customization, development, and use of enterprise hardware and software like supporting multiple-tier applications and using SAN-based storage and distributed networks

+ Experience with automation and orchestration tools like Red Hat Ansible Automation and host provisioning and management tools like Red Hat CloudForms or Red Hat Satellite

+ Ability to communicate value, progress, and key metrics to diverse business and technical audiences

+ Comfortable defining and promoting a technology roadmap and journey with the customer

+ Ability to learn and contribute to rapidly evolving technologies

+ Outstanding written and verbal communications skills, including extensive experience presenting to C-level executives at large firms

+ Solutions sales mentality in an environment with multiple offerings and services

+ Proven ability to work seamlessly with distributed cross-functional teams to achieve success on behalf of customers

+ Comfortable working with highly distributed teams, including interaction with the open source communities via screen shares, email, Slack, or IRC

+ The ability to study and quickly learn on your own and put new topics into practice

+ Passion for open source, software, tooling, and automation

+ Willingness to travel for 4 days a week for up to 30-40 weeks a year to customer sites throughout North America

+ Certifications like the Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) are a plus

+ Experience in the FSI is a plus
