Did you know that 90% of all goods are transported by shipping containers? Every year, tens of millions of shipping containers arrive in the U.S. carrying the goods that we use every day, from iPhones to toys to medical supplies. Incumbents still rely on emails and phone calls to move these containers to and from the port. We’re using data and technology to transform this system (“drayage”), and we hold ourselves to the high standard of delivering radical -- not just incremental -- solutions to the problem.

The Role
We are looking for a Senior Product Designer to provide creative and technical expertise to take concepts into beautiful products. We’re looking for candidates that think beyond just interfaces and apps and want to work across multiple touch points. The ideal candidate is a passionate, energetic, and hands-on designer who has previously worked with agile teams preferably in a highly operational industry.
This role reports directly to the Head of Design, and embedded in our mission teams.
What this role entails
- Leading user studies by defining key research questions and objectives, identifying appropriate methods, and synthesizing data and research into actionable insights and design recommendations
- Design across different platforms including desktop, mobile, and email
- Create end-to-end product design for new projects by creating wireframes and high fidelity designs in Figma
- Work closely with Product Managers, users, and stakeholders to understand what we are solving
- Working closely with the engineers, we go through a series of daily stand-ups and QA to make sure our solution is on track with the design and bug-free.
What success in this role looks like
- Be the subject matter experts with whom our users are and what problems they’re encountering. understand their motivations, triggers, aspirations, and goals.
- Ensure that designs are effectively solving problems and are delivered on time
- Demonstrate the use of information architecture, typography, copy, and visual hierarchy to efficiently solve complex problems
- Designs are detail oriented that addresses our target users and edge cases
- Create beautiful and user friendly products that solves real world problems for our users
