PN is looking for an experienced product manager who’s passionate about health, fitness and helping people live their best life to lead our nutrition coaching platform, ProCoach.

Precision Nutrition is growing, and we need a forward-thinking strategist who can turn our customer’s desires into achievable product goals. As one of the largest nutrition coaching companies in the world, PN is bigger than it’s ever been — and it’s about to get bigger.

To help us scale, we need a product manager who knows how to gather data on our customers’ needs, turn those into actionable tasks, and work with the design and technology teams to build a product that helps millions more people live healthier, happier lives.

Join our adventure

We’re embarking on a new adventure, and we need a hands-on senior manager to perfect our SaaS product.

We’ve got an exciting journey ahead of us…

Over the next 10 years, Precision Nutrition will be expanding our world-class nutrition coaching product, ProCoach, into a wide range of new markets and looking for new ways to personalize the coaching experience to achieve improved client results.

To help us reach our goals and keep us moving forward, we need an articulate, imaginative leader who knows how to rally a team, turn insights into action, and grow our business.

Who we’re looking for

A strategic thinker with the ability to turn insights into action.

You’re a mind reader.

Well, not really—but you’re intuitive as heck, and you know how to read between the lines. You understand people, giving you the uncanny ability to anticipate a customer’s needs, understand the difference between what they say and what they mean, and know how to respond empathetically.

You like variety.

You'll be handling all kinds of systems, apps, and technologies — everything from our modern Ember/Rails based coaching platform to our next generation Elixir based payment processing system.

You’re an exceptional communicator who can inspire a team.

You know how to be heard and energize people around your vision. You know the importance of communication, and can distill complex concepts into easy-to-understand, powerful ideas. You can clearly articulate the rationale for your decisions to people across the organization—design, engineering, and elsewhere.

You’re data-savvy.

You know how to design a hypothesis, execute a test, and synthesize data. You know gathering insights is about more than just running the numbers—you have a keen ability to make connection between seemingly unrelated pieces of information to better understand our customers.

You’re a thinker and a doer.

You aren’t just collecting data and passing it off to someone else—it’s your job to translate information into action. Once you’ve crafted a goal, you know what levers to pull to get the result you want, and you’re willing to roll up your sleeves and make it happen.

You keep your eye on the prize.

You understand how running a business works, and you’re always thinking about what we need to do to retain customers, attract new users, and scale the product accordingly.

You relish a good challenge.

You embody the “growth mindset,” and you’re not here to go through the motions. You live outside your comfort zone, and are always striving to increase your level of understanding beyond where it was yesterday.

You’re a prioritizing machine.

When confronted with multiple competing perspectives, you’re able to hone in on what has the most value to the company at any given moment—and push back on the stuff that isn’t.

You’re passionate about improving people’s health.

At the end of the day, our goal is to help people become healthier. Like us, you’re as passionate about telling stories as you are inspiring people to live their best lives, and ideally you’ve had some professional experience in fitness, nutrition, health care, life sciences, or edtech.

What you’ll be doing

Steering the direction of our product, and helping us scale...

You’re at the helm, deciding where ProCoach needs to go and what we need to get there. Your mission is simple: understand our target market, create a product strategy, translate those needs into a set of requirements and work cross functionality to bring those needs to market.

A few important caveats

This is a dream job, if you’re the right person for it.

Must-Have #1: You must be experienced.

You have at least 5 years of experience building digital products as a product manager, ideally in the b2b or consumer space—if you’re a project manager that hasn’t been hands-on in the building process, this isn’t for you. Experience at both big and small companies is a plus: we’re a small Agile team now, but we’ll be scaling quickly, and you’ll need to be able to manage teams of all sizes.

Must-Have #2: You’re insightful and analytical.

You know that when a customer says they want something, there’s more to the story. You’re adept at reading the subtext, hearing people on a deeper level, and connecting those dots to craft a better product.

Must-Have #3: You’re a natural-born leader.

You’re an authentic “people person.” You create a trusting environment, are able to facilitate a conversation to understand everyone's concerns, and rally the team around a vision for our product.
