The Red Hat SAP Alliance Technology team is looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to join our team in Germany. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Red Hat Virtualization (RHV), and other Red Hat’s offerings work well with and are validated and certified against SAP HANA and other SAP offerings. You'll work closely with SAP and its original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partners to run quality assurance (QA) tests, and debug issues for SAP offerings running on RHEL and RHV. The key to your success will be driving automation into these efforts to increase efficiency and quality and reduce time to certify. You will also communicate with upstream developers and work closely with Quality Engineering (QE), Customer Experience and Engagement (CEE), and other Red Hat teams to ensure that we deliver high-quality solutions and support to partners and customers running SAP offerings in combination with Red Hat’s offerings.

This position will be based in Red Hat's offices in Walldorf, Germany.

• Work directly with SAP engineering, quality engineering, and support teams to ensure that SAP HANA, and other SAP offerings are validated, certified, and supported to work with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Red Hat Virtualization (RHV), and other Red Hat’s offerings
• Work on-site at SAP to engage with local Red Hat’s engineers at SAP
• Carry out manual tests required for SAP validation
• Develop tests using automation infrastructure and available scripting languages
• Deliver clear status for testing areas in a timely manner
• Participate in the test planning and planning processes for our offerings
• Develop test cases and write clear and accurate bug reports
• Deploy virtualized and bare metal SAP environments to meet required specifications for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Red Hat Virtualization (RHV)
• Meticulously collect, review, and analyze appropriate statistics and metrics to make sure that SAP offerings work well in combination with Red Hat’s offerings
• Collaborate with other teams within Red Hat to test, troubleshoot, and perform bug fixes of SAP-related issues

• Practical experience with SAP HANA or SAP Netweaver and familiarity with other offerings from the SAP applications portfolio
• 3+ years of experience with Linux or Unix operating systems
• Bash and Python scripting abilities
• Knowledge of continuous integration (CI) tools like Jenkins
• Solid troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Solid understanding of CPU, memory, network, and storage hardware and software subsystems as they relate to performance
• Ability to collaborate in a global team environment, proactively engage subject matter experts, and follow through on commitments
• Fluent communication skills in English and German
• Solid understanding of testing processes

The following are considered a plus:

• Familiarity with virtual guests and Red Hat Ansible Automation
• Familiarity with analytics, data virtualization, in-memory databases, cloud deployments, relational databases, or data warehousing is a plus
• Familiarity with Red Hat's offerings and related industry offerings is a plus
