Senior Software Engineer - Secrets Team

The Secrets team in the Salesforce Kernel does not work on next-gen secret projects. Salesforce has a very open culture, so no need for secret projects. Instead, the Secrets team develops next-gen security frameworks to secure and govern secrets like passwords. We use open standard approaches. We enable robust roots-of-trust for a variety of scalable web service scenarios, such as facilitating cross-environment/cross-data-center secure APIs, handling service-wide credentials, and managing customer-specific keys.

We are starting a new initiative to build continuous compliance into our platform, so our trusted Salesforce platform will become even more secure as a result.

If you already have security and cryptography experience, great. If not you will learn a lot in the area.

Requirements:

  • Track record of building high-quality software

  • Highly proficient in Java or a similar language

  • Background or interest in web security and cryptography

  • Being a team player

  • Mentor others in development technologies, tools, and processes

  • Must be able to present your own designs to internal/external groups and review designs of others

  • Knowledge about software development methodologies, tools and approaches (black box, white box, and automated testing experience) for a software company with short release cycles

  • Strong test-planning skills and automation skills in a Java codebase. Write your own tests and review the code from coworkers

  • Proven experience managing the team's automation testing efforts using industry standard QA tools, such as Selenium and JUnit

  • MS in CS or EE preferred Undergraduate technical degree (BS/MS in CS/EE); or relevant technical working experience

Education:

  • MS in Computer Engineer/Science or related field, or

  • BS in Computer Engineer/Science plus relevant job-related experience
