Want to join a challenging and rewarding environment, supporting a major customer on a modern stack with a great team?

We're looking for a senior engineer able to drive the delivery of a delightful product experience in a rapidly expanding product suite to a major customer as the first role in a pivotal new division for HappyCo.

You'll be working directly with the customer solving their real-world problems, backed up by a great team. Ideally you've come from the product development world, with at least 8 years experience working backend or full stack.

At a minimum you'll be experienced at debugging issues on cloud environments like GCP; familiar with IP networking and PostgreSQL database management; technically aware of web apps, containerization, APIs and integration architecture; and easily write demonstration code.

Preferably you'll have worked with some of PostgreSQL, Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, Javascript and an object oriented backend language. We highly value attitude and ability to learn over precise skill matching.

You'll further have a proactive problem solving approach, with the experience and desire to work directly with customers, including communicating technical domain concepts to non-technical people; expectation setting and customer management; potentially leading meetings and workshops; and some familiarity with project management concepts.

Potential background/expansion work could involve Ruby on Rails, data pipelines and/or SRE-like work monitoring and improving the performance of our platform.

HappyCo builds mobile and cloud solutions to enable real-time operations for the property management industry, for a user base primarily in the US.

Please note that you must have the right to work in the US. A successful candidate will need to be able to attend customer offices in-person in Washington, DC.
